Both MGU and Calicut University are popular universities in Kerala. In the NIRF 2023 rankings, MG University leads Calicut on 31st spot and the latter has secured 70th position.  Hence, ranking-wise MGU is a better option. However, the course fee is more economical at the Calicut University. MGU MA fees range between INR 1,900 and INR 1.8 Lacs and at Calicut University, the MA fee range from INR 950 to INR 82,500. Admission to this PG-level course is through a Centralised Allotment Process (CAP). For selection, candidates have to take the MGU CAT exam, which is conducted in-house. Based on the candidates' score in the entrance examination, a selection list is released by the university. Candidates who make it to the list become eligible for participation in the counselling round. The seats are allotted after document verification during counselling.

MG University MA fee is cumulative of multiple fee components such as the tuition fee, hostel charges, enrolment fee, security deposit, and many more. The fee for MA courses varies for the courses on-campus and those offered by the affiliated colleges. Total tuition fee for this course range between INR 1,900 and INR 1.8 lakh. Mahatma Gandhi Univerity Common Admission Test (MGU CAT) application fee is announced category-wise. The application fee for general and open all-India quota candidates is INR 1,200 and INR 600 for the SC/ST candidates. Moreover, the fee for international candidates is UD 100. The fee payment shall be accepted in online mode via credit card, debit card, or net banking.

No, a CUET score is not required for admission to MG University courses. There is no information available regarding the same officially. Admission to the MGU Kerala courses is merit and entrance-based. The university also conducts an in-house entrance examination, which is the Mahatma Gandhi University Common Admission Test (MGU CAT).  It is conducted for admissions to various PG programmes offered by the University such as MSc, MA, Master of Tourism and Travel Management, LLM and M.Ed. In addition, many national-level exam scores are also accepted for admission.

The MSc placement report 2023 is not released as of now. However, as per the university NIRF report 2023, the median package offered during MG University PG 2-year placements in 2022 stood at INR 5 LPA. In addition, a total of 87 students were placed out of 440 students during PG 2-year placements in 2022. A dip of nearly 17% is seen in the PG 2-year median package offered in 2022 as compared with 2021.

• MGU UG application form was released on May 15 and the last date to apply was Jun 7. Additionally, the provisional merit list shall be published was Jun 12.
• The last date to apply for MBA and MGU-CAT was May 5, 2024. CAT-MGU was held between May 17 and May 18, 2024. Admission to most of the PG courses is based on MGU CAT conducted by the university.
