Good placements in 2022, really good in college facilities, tasty mess food and cheap.
Placements: Around 90% students were placed. Since its a Design college, everyone package was different and it also dependent on their work because most of them were on a freelance basis. There were many famous companies in the communication field which took in our students. And even in the craft field alot of them got government scholarships.
Infrastructure: There are all the facilities available in the college like Wi-Fi, computer labs with MAC setup, good classrooms with air conditiobers, good library with a variety of books available for every subject. There is a health centre which provides free medical aid to all students and staff.
Faculty: The teachers are really helpful and knowledgeable. Most of them have their own studios so you get exposure from there also and also provide good internship opportunities. Curriculum is good and makes the students industry ready. The pass percentage is 75% and the papers are easy if you study.
Other: I chose this course and college because after NID and NIFT, this is one of the top design colleges. The communication design dept is the most famous. I always loved craft so I chose craft and design and I am having amazing experience in college.

B.Des. in Communication Design - Batch of 2023
Offered by MSU - The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda

It is a basic government college.
Placements: There are no placements done for our course in our college. Students find themselves an internship at first and then a job. Some of my classmates recently did internships at Olgivy media company and Transcend biz mentor. They struggled all by themselves. Their top role till now is creative director after master's in design.
Infrastructure: Our college runs on the old architecture of Mataja Sayajirao Palace. That's a very old and beautiful heritage, but it lacks a modern touch. Classrooms for our course are located in Sayajibhavan, behind the university's head office. The college offers Wi-Fi, but it doesn't always work. There is a computer lab just for the sake of the name. We can't use computers there. The hostel fee is Rs. 4000 per year, which is very little and the facilities are worth that amount. 4 students stay in a room, and bathrooms are shared by almost 40 to 50 students. The hostel mess is quite good and hygienic. You can eat unlimited for just 40 rupees.
Faculty: Faculty members teach specific subjects, and they are quite good at their work. They just give you assignments and you have to work according to them. Their curriculum is good enough for students to make them champs. Semester exams take place every 3 months in which most of the focus is on practical work as it's a practical subject. The jury is very difficult there, and theory exams are also difficult because you have to write so much.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to do something creative. The best thing about the design course is that you get to explore things. I wish teachers focused more on learning rather than just giving assignments because our teachers didn't even teach us software. No events are happening at our college. The campus crowd consists of very average students as the cut-off is so low. There are no scholarships.

Experience with the faculty was good but infrastructure and placements were not up to the point.
Placements: 50% students were placed in our course. The highest package must be approx. 1 lakh per month and minimum must be about 15-20 thousand per month. Top recruiting companies are alto video, H&M, etc. Most of the students didn't get any internship. 60% students got internships in alto video, Chatur chidya companies, etc. Top roles offered are logo designer, furniture designer, ceramic artists, moving images designer and accessories designer.
Infrastructure: Our infrastructure isn't really in a good situation, though the new building is under construction but we didn't get to have a great experience in the old one. Wi-Fi facilities are okay but we suffered from heat a lot. The infrastructure and facilities are not at all appreciable according to the fees they charge us.
Faculty: The teachers were amazing. We had visiting faculty members from different states of India. Overall, the learning process was great. The exams were not too difficult, though we had juris in which our practical work was judged, which was quite a new experience.

I am dissatisfied with internal faculty members and peons.
Placements: About 70% of the students from our course got placed. The highest salary offered is 1 lac per month and the lowest salary offered is Rs.10,000 per month, and the average salary offered is Rs.15,000 per month. Design firms visit here for our course, and design development manager is the top role offered in our course. It is a new institute and is not defined right now. Almost 100% of the students got internships in design companies across India like the Burlap People, Studio Farishtey, The Khadi Cult and Indian Institute of Technology.
Infrastructure: Our college provides Wi-Fi facility, library, computer lab, LAN cables to the students, workshops with various high-end industrial machine and office. The quality of the food served here is pretty bad, though we get Jain and Swaminarayan food individually. The canteen is like a huge mess.
Faculty: Usually, visiting faculty members conduct classes, and they are highly qualified. But there are politics within the internal faculty members, that leads to biased. The course curriculum is completely relevant and apt for the designers. The college makes you industry ready by conducting industry visit to you while you are studying.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in design and to contribute some good designs in the world. Maybe the internal politics within the peons and faculty members will not improve our future.
