Infrastructure/Facilities

  • Library

    The Nalanda University Library is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Monday to Sunday). It is a fully air-conditioned library with wi-fi connectivity. It is fully automated with KOHA ILM software and also has locker facilities for the students. Though at a nascent stage, it is evolving at a great pace and is envisioned to become the hub of student activity in future.

  • Cafeteria

    Students can grab a quick bite between classes at the University cafeteria situated in the main building. It provides healthy and sumptuous food. The cafeteria is open on weekdays between 9 am to 7 pm.

  • Hostel

    Nalanda University presently has five residence halls: Ajatshatru, Ananda, Maitreya, Nagarjuna and Tathagat. The University has acquired these residence halls on lease from Government of Bihar and private players to accommodate its growing student population. Tathagat residence hall has been designated as a women's only residence hall, while all the others will be used as men's only. The residence halls provide rooms both with and without air-conditioning and on the single as well as twin sharing basis. All rooms in the residence halls have certain pre-fitted furniture and fixtures as well as attached bathrooms. Residences also have dining halls where students may be served wholesome and sumptuous meals. Apart from these facilities, the residence halls include common facilities like pantries, laundry areas with washing machines, common rooms with televisions, study areas with computer and wi-fi facilities. Facilities for sports and games like badminton, table tennis, cricket and volleyball are also available at the residence halls. Residences also have dining halls where students may be served wholesome and sumptuous meals.

There are the best faculty members and the maintenance.

Infrastructure: The rooms of the hostel are good with proper aeration facilities, and the cleaning of the rooms is also best. The food served in the mess is not much good but fine for students. There is also a huge area for sports.

A review on Nalanda University.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure in all could be rated 3.5 out of 5. The students of the present are of the Interim campus which is large enough located very close to the main market of Rajgir town. All the five hostels and the Interim campus, are fully equipped with Wi-Fi but mostly don't work when students need it the most (during exams). Facilities in Nalanda University are laudable.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is really excellent and top-notch. One can be bewitched after seeing the beauty of the hills through its open campus, and by sitting beside the lake, one can have a moment of peace. The Wi-Fi is more or less everywhere. The auditorium, library, and lab are also great. The main library is under construction. Regarding the hostel and meals, all are good, with AC and a bed with a mattress and Godrej Interio furniture.
