NLU Assam UG, PG Courses 2025

NLUJAA LLM admission 2024 is done through CLAT. Candidates who qualify for CLAT are required to pay fee for their respective courses, which includes various components such as Tuition Fee, Examination Fee, Security Deposit, Hostel Charges (if applicable), etc. Other than the LLM fee, candidates are required to pay a fee for CLAT application fee. For General /OBC /PWD /PIO /OCI /NRI category candidates, the application fee is INR 4,000 and for SC /ST /BPL category candidates, the application fee is INR 3,500. 

CLAT 2024 dates for admission to NLU Assam are out. Students seeking admission to UG and PG courses offered at National Law Universities (NLUs) can apply for CLAT 2024 on or before Nov 3, 2023 since the applications are currently ongoing. Only students who fill out the application form as well as, pay the fee are issued admit cards to appear for CLAT exam 2024. Students can log in using their registered mobile number and password to update their preferences in CLAT 2024 application form. 

Conducted in pen-and-paper mode, candidates have to attempt questions from English, Current Affairs and GK, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Mathematics for UG course, and from Constitutional Law, and other law subjects like Jurisprudence, Torts, IPC, CrPC, CPC, Family Law, and IPR. For admission 2024 at NLU Assam, the exam is scheduled for Dec 3, 2023.

Candidates who are willing to get into NLU Assam for the one-year LLM or five-year LLB course must specific the desired course in the application form.

For admission to NLU Assam for the LLB or LLM course, the result of CLAT 2024 can be expected by the last week of December 2023 After the release of result, the exam takers will be able to download their CLAT scorecards from the official website using their login credentials for NLU Assam admission via CLAT counselling and seat allotment.

CLAT 2024 result contains details like the candidate's overall and sectional scores, and merit rank. Those who will qualify CLAT 2024 by meeting the required minimum cutoff as per the merit list are called for counselling process for seat allotment.

Note that for admission to the 5-year LLB or LLM courses, the candidate will have to meet the CLAT 2024 cut-off in their respective category. The CLAT 2024 merit rank list will be shared at the time of admission and seat allotments. Candidates ranked higher in CLAT 2024 merit list will be given preference during the seat allotment process.

The official college website currently has not released any information regarding the placement of LLM. Details regarding the placements of BAs and LLBs are available in the NIRF report. The placement information for the 2023 graduating class is still pending in the official site. On its official website, the institute has, nevertheless, made available the NIRF report for 2023. One BA LLB (Hons) student was placed at NLU Assam placements in 2021, according the NIRF report 2023. Additionally, INR 7.63 LPA was the median package provided to BA LLB students during NLU Assam placements in 2021.

Located in Guwahati, Assam, India, National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJA or NLUJAA) is a national law university. It was founded in 2009 as a public university specialising in legal education by an Act approved by the Assamese State Legislature (Assam Act XXV of 2009). The 60-acre National Law University and Judicial Academy campus is located in the Amingaon neighbourhood, a municipality outside of Guwahati City. NLu Assam offers ‘Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme’ with the view to supporting students from economically backward classes in their pursuit of education. This scholarship helps students who are pursuing BA, LLB (HONS) five year integrated course, i.e., students of the second; third; fourth and fifth years. The scholarship will be provided to students whose family income is less than INR 8 lakh.

By passing the National Law School and Judicial Academy, Assam Act, 2009, the Assam government established the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA). It's one of India's autonomous law schools. In 2021 the institute was ranked 20 among the law universities by NIRF. The NLUJAA offers a one-year degree curriculum in LLM and a five-year integrated course in BA-LLB (Hons). A PhD in law is also offered by the university. The 60-acre, lush, verdant campus is located outside of Guwahati in the Amingaon neighbourhood. A passing CLAT score is a requirement for admission to the NLUJAA LLM programme. In order to receive their final seat assignment, students must also go through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) counselling process run by CNLU.

Constitutional law, international trade law, administrative law, human rights & international humanitarian law, security & investment law, etc. are among the specialisations offered by LLM colleges in India. 

The National Law School and Judicial Academy, Assam Act, 2009, which was passed by the Assamese government, founded the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam. The University provides a five-year integrated course B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) Five-Year Integrated Course, in which the first two years of study combine law courses with Social Science disciplines like Economics, History, Political Science, and Sociology as well as an English language course. A one-year LL.M. (Master of Laws) degree programme is also offered by the university. There are two hostels: one for boys and one for girls. Both have a smoke-free kitchen, a large eating area, a reading hall, a yoga studio, a prayer hall, a library, and a dining area. Hostels can accommodate single or double occupancy.

In order to get admission at National Law University & Judicial Academy, Assam candidates must have a valid score of CLAT. The Common Law Admission Test, known as CLAT,  is a national-level law entrance exam conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). At NLU Assam, there are 30 available seats for LLM. At the postgraduate level, NLU Assam provides a one-year LLM programme. Students may apply if they have a valid CLAT exam score and satisfy the minimal eligibility requirements. An undergraduate degree with a 50% cumulative GPA is the primary qualifying requirement, and the CLAT entrance exam is accepted. The tuition fee structure is 55 K in total. Seven specialisations in LLM courses are available at NLU Assam. Commercial law, corporate law, constitutional law, environmental law, intellectual property law, human rights and international humanitarian law, and international trade law are among the LLM specialisations.

The closing rank for CLAT Fourth Provisional Allocation List for NLUJAA LLM course is 2165 for the General category students. NLU Assam cutoff 2024 as per the CLAT Round 1 Seat Allotment for BA LLB and LLM for the General category candidates under the Vertical Reservation is tabulated below: 

National Law University Assam fee for BA LLB programme is INR 4 lakh. The fee structure is cumulative of multiple components, such as tuition fee, hostel fee, medical insurance, mess and other security deposits, etc. Out of all these fee components, there are a few components that are charged one-time by NLU Assam, while some have to be paid semester-wise, such as tuition fees.

As per NLU Assam NIRF report 2024, the median package offered during UG 5-year placements 2023 stood at INR 6.8 LPA. Further, a total of 16 students were placed and 20 students opted for higher studies out of total 70 students during UG 5-year placements 2023. National Law University offers admission based on merit and entrance exams. Aspiring candidates qualify the eligibility criteria set by the univeristy for the admission. The NLU Assam CLAT Cutoff 2024 has been released for the 5-year integrated LLB (UG) and one-year LLM (PG) courses. The NLU Assam cutoff 2024 was concluded after Round 5 of the admissions list. The closing rank of the BA LLB (Hons) programme stood at 1474 in Round 1 and 1704 in the last round of CLAT cutoff for the general AI category candidates.
