The opening or minimum rank required for NLU Patiala is 1141 for BBA LLB and 1167 for LLM for General Category students under Vertical Reservation. Every year, the cut off marks for the CLAT exam are affected due to the following factors:

• The difficulty level of the exam. In case the question paper is easy then the CLAT cut offs are expected to go high and vice-versa.
• Total number of applications received. If the total applications received are less then the cut off is expected to be relaxed. 
• Total candidates qualifying CLAT exam. If the total number of qualifying candidates is less than the total seats then cut off goes low
• Total number of seats. If the total number of seats is revised and increased then cut off is expected to remain low
• Previous year cut offs. For the top NLUs, the cut-off marks in previous years were high, therefore, only topper candidates could make it for final admissions. Fore other NLUs, the cut off marks are relatively low.

Candidates who qualify for CLAT must pay the fee for their respective courses, which includes components such as Tuition Fee, Examination Fee, Security Deposit, Hostel Charges (if applicable), etc. Other than the course fee, candidates are required to pay a fee for CLAT application fee. The placements at The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law are pretty good and the average salary package offered was 8.4 LPA. The university is considered to be one of the top universities for law. 

Every year, the students are provided a generous CTC package during the placement drive. Placements for RGNUL Punjab 2023 are now complete. Eight recruiters made PPOs, and eight recruiters made offers to graduating students; the remaining eight recruiters were hired through campus recruitment. Out of the 31 students who were placed, 11 of them obtained PPOs as a result of their internships. 

The RGNUL Punjab students received offers from a number of recruiters, including Trilegal, Ernst & Young LLP, S&A Law Officers, Link Legal, etc.

The CLAT entrance exam results are accepted by the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) for admission to its BA LLB (Hons) programme. India offers a nationwide entrance exam called CLAT for admission to undergraduate and graduate law programmes. The Consortium of National Law Universities is in charge of it.

The 12th examinations from the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB), the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and the Indian School Certificate (ISC) are also accepted by RGNUL for candidates from Punjab. Applicants must have received at least 45% (or 40% for SC, ST, and OBC candidates) in their qualifying exam. 

Based on their CLAT score, candidates who have received a legitimate score will be shortlisted. To further assess the candidates, RGNUL may conduct personal interviews (PIs) with those who have been shortlisted if there are more applicants than seats available.

* Excellent Infrastructure: RGNUL has one of the best infrastructures among all NLUs, with air-conditioned rooms, Wi-Fi enabled campus, and modern facilities.
* Holistic Development: The college organizes various cultural and academic events, ensuring students' overall development.

Cons:
* Placement Record: Despite efforts, the placement record is not remarkable, with fewer students getting placed in top law firms.
* Infrastructure Challenges: While the infrastructure is good, there might be occasional issues with cleanliness and maintenance.
* Teaching Quality Variance: Some faculty members may not be effective in their teaching methods, affecting student performance.

Overall, RGNUL seems like a good choice for those interested in law, with strong faculty support, relevant coursework, and decent placement opportunities. However, students should be aware of the potential drawbacks and set realistic expectations.
