The last date to apply for NERIST NEE is March 31, 2025. The application process will start on January 10, 2025. Q: When will the NERIST NEE application form release?
The North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) will release the NERIST NEE 2025 application form on January 10, 2025. The online application forms will be available on the official website, nerist.ac.in. The application process for NEE-I, NEE-II and NEE-III will start together and candidates can apply for NEE as per their choice of course. The NEE-II exam is held for admission in BTech and BSc (Hons) in Forestry. Whereas, NEE-I is held for admission in certificate courses and the NEE-III is held for BTech LE admissions.
How to fill NEE 2025 Application Form?
Below are the steps to fill out and submit the application form for NEE I, II, and III 2025.
Step 1: Create a login for the NEE 2025 application
- Visit the official portal for application and click on 'Online Application for NEE 2025'. Click the “Sign In” button if you have already registered otherwise click on “Register New Account.” Enter your email id, name, mobile number, and password to create a login for online registration.
- The candidate’s mobile number will be used to send an OTP (one-time password) to verify the account. All the details need to be filled in correctly as there is no scope for changing username, mobile number, and email. Once all the details are filled in and a password is generated, click on “Register.”
- Once the account is verified, candidates need to keep a passport-size photograph and signature ready to be uploaded into the system. Please note that the image size should not be more than 60kb for photographs and 40kb for signatures. Also, the image should be in JPG/JPEG format.
- The user will now be redirected to the Home page, where he/she needs to choose his/her qualification and select the NEE exam they want to apply i.e. NEE I, NEE II, and NEE III. Click on the apply button to move to the next window.
Step 2: Fill in the NEE 2025 online application form
- Candidates can now view the list of applications they have applied for and start filling up the form for the chosen exam type. They shall start with selecting a region-based quota that includes all eight states of North East India.
- Now, select the reservation quota against each of the selected quotas. If there are no seats for a selected reservation code, then candidates need to click on the “Reservation List Button” to view the available valid reservation code.
- Select your preferred examination centre wisely as the same cannot be changed once the form is submitted. After all the fields are filled, click “Save” and continue.
- Now, candidates need to fill in personal details in the fields available and again click on the “Save & Continue” button.
- Start uploading the photograph and signature and click on the “Save & Continue” button to proceed to the next step.
- Before submitting the application form for the final time, candidates can review the information panels carefully and make necessary changes if required. Click on the “Final Submit” button to submit the form.
Step 3: Payment of NEE 2025 application fee
- Candidates can make an online payment via Visa and Master cards. They must first select the payment option (Debit/Credit card/net banking) and move ahead to the payment gateway. After selecting the card and filling in all the required information, candidates need to click on the “Pay Now Button.”
- If the payment is successful, candidates will receive an SMS on their registered mobile and will be redirected to the registration completion page. Once the application process is completed, candidates can download their E-Application form and save a copy of this by taking a printout.
- Please note, that the online payment is applicable for candidates who already have an online account from a recognized bank and a username and password for the online transaction.
Step 5: Take a print of the application form
- After successful payment, you can take the printout of the form and save it for future correspondence.
Q: What scanned documents must be uploaded in the NERIST NEE application form?
Candidates have to upload scanned copy of their recent passport sized photo and signature one in blue/black ink. The uploaded images should be within 3.5 X 4.5 cm in size, maximum 100 KB in size and must be in JPEG/JPG format.
Q: Can I select exam centre of my choice in NERIST entrance exam application form?
Yes. Candidtaes can select and fill choice of their city from the available list from where they wish to appear in the NEE exam. The NERIST Entrance Examination (NEE) is conducted in the eight North Eastern States. An applicant should choose an appropriate exam centre code from where they desire to appear for the NERIST Entrance Examination. An applicant has to provide two choices of examination centres while filling out the online form for the NEE. The first choice of examination centre exercised by an applicant is maintained as such. A centre may not be available to a candidate if the number of applicants in that centre exceeds the maximum capacity of the centre and also, a centre may be cancelled if sufficient numbers of applicants are not available in that centre. In both the cases, the second choice of the examination centre is allotted to the applicant.

Age limit: The maximum age limit as of 31st July of the current academic year is 23 years for the students of the general category (GE) (born on or after 1st August 2002), 26 years for OBC and female applicants (born on or after 1st August 1999) and 28 years for ST/SC/PD (born on or after 1st August 1997).
Academic qualification: Academic Qualifications for different schemes/modes of NEE-II:
- NEE-II (PCM): Applicants must have passed/appeared in 10+2/ Higher Secondary/Sr. Secondary with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM).
- NEE-II (PCB): Applicants must have passed/appeared in 10+2/Higher Secondary/Sr. Secondary with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB).

Things to Keep Handy Before Applying for NEE 2025
Applicants are required to keep the following things ready before filling out the NEE 2025 application form:
- An E-mail ID for registration and for receiving all future correspondence until the admission process is over and subsequently if admitted.
- One Mobile Number to receive SMS-based notifications/communications related to the online application form, admit card, result, etc. till the admission process is over and subsequently if admitted.

Q: I am in class 10th. How can I fill out the NERIST exam?
Yes, candidates can join the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology after qualifying the class 10th examination. Candidates can join certificate course after clearing class 10 exam. Such candidates have to appear for the NERIST entrance exam (NEE-I).
Q: Is NERIST only for the candidates belonging to north-eastern India?
No. NERIST NEE can be given by candidates from all states. However, there will be reservation of seats with maximum weightage given to the seats reserved for candidates from North Eastern states of India.
The resrevation policy is as follows:
- State quota: 80% of seats are reserved for candidates of the 8 (Eight) North Eastern States (10% for each state) as state-quota. Besides this, 7% of the total seats are filled up with Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) holders of these 8 (Eight) North Eastern States on merit basis.
- All India quota: 10% of the total seats are filled up with candidates under All India-quota.
- PD quota: 3% of the total seats are reserved for Physical Locomotor Disabled (PD) persons under PD quota.
Q: Is there any age limit to apply for NERIST NEE-II?
Yes, there is an age limit to apply for NEE-II. The maximum age limit as of 31st July 2024 is 23 years for the students of the general category (GE) (born on or after 1st August 2001), 26 years for OBC and female applicants (born on or after 1st August 1998), and 28 years for ST/SC/PD (born on or after 1st August 1996).
NERIST NEE 2025 Application Fee
The application fee for NEE is as follows:
- INR 1500 for Gen/OBC/EWS
- INR 1000 for ST/SC/PH
Candidates can pay the fee using a Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking through the payment gateway available on the portal.
Q: Is it necessary to appear in all the three exams of NERIST or appearing in only anyone exam will be enough?
NERIST conducts 2 entrance exams. The candidates do nt need to appear in all three. They need to appear for the NEE via which they can gain admission to the course of their choice.
To take admission in certificate course, candidates have to appear in NEE-I. For admission in BTech and BSc (Hons) in Forestry courses candidates have to appear in NEE-II. And, for admission to BTech LE, candidates have to appear in NEE-III.
Q: My qualifying exam resulted is awaited for this year. Can I apply for NERIST NEE?
Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination this year and whose results are awaited are also eligible to apply. However, they must produce their mark sheets/ grade cards/ pass certificates on the day of counselling/ admission. Otherwise, their selection will be cancelled.
Documents Needed to Upload in NERIST Entrance Exam Form 2025
Candidates need to upload scanned images of their passport-sized photo and signature. The specification for scanning the image and signature is as follows:
Uploading the scanned passport-sized photo
The scanned passport-sized photo should be:
- within 3.5 X 4.5 cm in size
- maximum 100 KB in size
- ".JPEG/.JPG" format
If candidates are facing any problems uploading their photo or are rejected by the system then resize the photo as per the sample images shown here. To re-size the scanned photo please follow the following steps:
- Right-click on the scanned photo file → Open with → Microsoft Office Picture Manager.
- Then look at the top menus and click Picture → Resize.
- Now look at the right panel, select the radio button custom width x height, and write width = 138 px, height = 177 px. Then click OK to complete.
- If you are not able to do this properly, then use the 'Crop' feature for the 'Picture' menu.
- Then save the file.
Uploading the scanned signature
The scanned signature should be:
- using Blue/ Black pen
- on white sheet
- in ".JPEG/.JPG" format only
- not more than 100 KB in size
NERIST NEE 2025 Application Form Correction
The facility for making corrections in the NEE application form 2025 will be provided once the application process is over. Q: Does the NERIST NEE application form correction window opens?
NERIST NEE 2024 application form correction process has started. NEE 2024 form correction window started on April 17 and will be available till April 21, 11:59 pm.
Q: Can I apply for NERIST entrance exam in offline mode too?
No. NERIST releases the NEE application form in the online mode only, Candidates cannot access the application form in any other form. The eligible candidates can apply for NEE in the online mode only and the form must be submitted in the online mode only. The applictaion fee can be alsopaid online only.
