Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) Scholarship Details ,Gandhinagar

Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU, formerly known as Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University) offers a vast range of merit, need-based and sports scholarships to its UG, PG and diploma course students. Offered in the form of full and half tuition fee waivers, PDEU scholarships are awarded with effect from the first year. However, to become eligible for the continuance of the scholarship in the subsequent years for most scholarships, the students are required to have a minimum SPI (differs with each course) in the first semester and in every subsequent semester.

PDEU BTech Scholarships

For BTech, the university offers Merit Scholarship in the form of full tuition fee waiver (w.e.f. first semester) to the students. Students who takes admission as per the following bank of JEE Main and ACPC rank for various courses will get a full tuition fees waiver. The details are as follows:

So as to become eligible for the continuance of the scholarship in the years after the first one, students are required to have the following:

• Have a minimum SPI of 8 in the first semester and 8.5 in every subsequent semester
• Pass every semester exam at the first attempt besides regular attendance, disciplined and exemplary behaviour and compliance with all other norms, as prescribed by the University from time to time

PDEU Special Merit Scholarships

PDEU also offers some special merit scholarships to students of BTech. Students get admission either through All-India seats or ACPC seats. The tuition waiver of 25% will be offered to students who take admission in BTech Civil/ Electrical/ Petroleum Engineering in the batch of 2023-27. The scholarship will remain continue to the final semester of course for students passing with a minimum of 6.5 CPI in Semester-1 onwards.

PDEU Diploma to Degree Scholarships

The university offers Merit Cum Means Half Tuition Fee Waiver scholarships to the students on the basis of the following:

• This is applicable to Diploma to Degree BTech students who seek admission in the third semester (scholarship applicable with effect from their fourth semester)
• The total annual income (from all sources) of the student’s family must not exceed INR 8.00 lakh
• Students seeking such scholarships must apply after the announcement of the result of third-semester exams in a prescribed form. They must have the following:
• Secure a minimum of 6.5 CPI
• Provide authentic information e.g. family income, etc.

Continuation of scholarship in subsequent semesters

The continuation of the scholarship in subsequent semesters is subject to a minimum of 6.5 CPI in the previous semester, besides fulfilment of other norms, such as regular attendance, and disciplined and exemplary behaviour. Moreover, students must not get any other financial assistance/ fellowship/ freeship/ scholarship from any other source.

PDEU MTech Scholarships

For MTech programme, the University offers financial assistance from its own resources. The details are as follows:

• For students with a valid GATE score (in Phase-I only): INR 12,400 per month
• For students admitted under Phase-II (Non-GATE admission process): INR 8,000 per month subject to the following:
• The number of beneficiaries are limited to the GATE category seats in the respective branch (if left vacant)
• Selection of candidates is as per the admission merit (candidates should secure a minimum of 50% score overall)

PDEU MBA Scholarships

MBA students of PDEU are offered Merit-cum-Means Scholarships (50% tuition fee waiver). A maximum of 10 such Merit-cum-Means Scholarships are available. Conditions to receive the same are as follows:

• The family income (from all sources) of the candidate, in the previous financial year, should not exceed INR 10 Lakh
• Candidates must have scored a minimum of 85 percentile in CAT/ XAT/ NMAT

PDEU MSc Scholarships

For MSc courses offered by PDEU, a Research-based Assistantship of INR 25,000 per semester is given to all enrolled students of the first year (first and second semester), and is paid at the end of the respective semester. Students have to maintain a CPI of 6.5 or above throughout the first year to be eligible for the research assistantship.

PDEU MA Scholarships

There are two scholarship schemes applicable for the MA students seeking admission to MA. Students are entitled to avail any one based on the eligibility criteria and prevailing norms. These are:

• The In-house Scholarship Scheme for the graduate students from PDPU
• The Merit cum Means Scholarship Scheme for graduates from other institutions

PDEU PhD Scholarships

The university offers financial assistance to PhD students who would qualify as per the norms specified:

• Up to the first two years: INR 25,000 per month as a research fellowship
• In the third year: INR 30,000 per month as a research fellowship

Financial assistance of INR 10,000 in the form of a Teaching Assistantship on merit basis is also offered to students who are not receiving the above referred financial assistance.

Continuation of scholarship:

Continuance of PhD fellowship is subject to punctuality, discipline, good academic/ research progress review and recommendation of the doctoral committee and compliance to other norms as prescribed by the University from time to time.

Cancellation of Financial Assistance:

This financial assistance is also liable to cancellation, in case of misconduct/ indiscipline/ unsatisfactory progress of research work/ failure in any examination related to PhD or if a student is found eligible later.
