PU LLB Entrance Exam 2025: Notification (Soon), Exam Date, Registration, Syllabus, Preparation

The PU LLB entrance exam is conducted by Panjab University for admissions to three-year LLB courses and five-year BA LLB and B.Com LLB offered at its Department of Law and constituent colleges. The exam was held in a pen-paper-mode test in three languages i.e. English, Hindi, and Punjabi. The PU LLB Exam had three sections - Current Affairs and GK, Legal Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability and English. The PU LLB question paper included a total of 100 objective-type questions that had to be answered in 90 minutes. As many as 480 LLB seats are offered through the law entrance exam.

Candidates seeking admissions through PU LLB should fulfill the eligibility criteria for the course as under:

• Candidates should have a bachelor's degree or master’s degree in any discipline from Panjab University or any other University that is recognized by the Bar Council of India and Panjab University.
• They should have secured at least 45% marks in the qualifying examination.
• Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe/ Backward Class/ Persons with Disability have been given 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks i.e. they need to have 40% marks in their qualifying degree.

Panjab University will release the PU LLB application form online at puchd.ac.in anytime soon. The application form is for admission to the 3-year LLB program offered by participating colleges. Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria for the program must apply on or before the last date. When filling out the application form, candidates must fill in only genuine and factual information, as details will be verified during the counseling process. Any candidate found to be forging information is disqualified.

Steps to fill out the PU LLB 2025 application form

• Click on the admission link on the admission portal
• A registration form will open
• Complete the registration process by entering details like name, email ID, mobile number, graduation registration number, etc.
• After completing the registration process, log in to the newly created account and fill in personal, academic, and contact details.
• Next, pay the application fee. The fee can be paid in 1) online mode or 2) offline - download the e-challan from the admission portal and pay the fee at a nearby SBI branch.
• Finally, upload essential documents like photographs and signatures in the prescribed format and submit the application form.

When preparing for the exam, the candidate must strictly follow the syllabus outlined for the entrance exam. This is because questions in the exam were asked from topics that were included in the PU LLB syllabus. Candidates were suggested to refer to the syllabus for the current academic session only, and do not use the previous year's syllabus.

PU LLB Admit Card 2024 will be released at least 15 days before the exam. Candidates who successfully fill the application form will be issued the admit cards. Without PU LLB Hall Ticket candidates won't be allowed to appear in the PU LLB Entrance Exam. The PU LLB 2025 admit card mentions exam information like the date and time of the exam, roll number, and the name and address of the allotted exam center. The candidate can download the admit card by entering the credentials. On the day of the exam, the candidate was asked to bring with them a valid photo id proof along with the admit card.

Steps to download the admit card for PU LLB 2025

1. Click on the admit card download tab on the official website
2. A log-in window will open
3. Enter login ID and password 
4. On log-in, the admit card will be displayed in downloadable pdf format
5. Download and take a printout.

Note: In case of any discrepancy in the admit card, the candidate has to get in touch with exam officials and get it rectified as soon as possible.

The exam was held in offline mode at the Chandigarh center only. Candidates who appeared for the law entrance exam had to be careful of the following things: 

• Candidates had to reach the test center at least an hour before the exam so that exam officials could check the admit cards and other documents.
• Candidates had to carry their pen i.e. black ink gel pen and an HB pencil to mark answers on the OMR sheet. 
• They were not allowed to take any notes, papers, or calculators inside the examination hall. The university had provided logarithmic tables for the test takers. 
• Also, taking mobile phones, Bluetooth devices or any other equipment were not allowed in the examination, if candidates carry such items then he/she was disqualified from the exam.
• Candidates had to follow the guidelines of the exam center officials while taking the exam.

The PU LLB Answer Key 2025 will be released along with the question paper. The answer key contains the responses to all the 120 multiple-choice questions asked in the exam and can be used by the candidate to evaluate their tentatively expected scores. Candidates can raise objections to the PU LLB Answer Key. The officials will then upload the revised answer key and invite cross-objections through email within the given deadline. The final key is released after considering student feedback. The exam authority will cross-verify all the objections before announcing PU LLB 2025 results.

• Download the pdf.

To raise an objection against a key (s), the candidate has to write to the concerned official listing their concerns; supporting evidence has to be furnished with the mail. 

Punjab University will declare the result of the PU LLB 2025 entrance examination within a month of conducting the exam. The candidate can download the results by logging in with their credentials by visiting the official website. The PU LLB 2025 exam results will include information such as the candidate's name, roll number, sectional and overall scores, rank, and provisional qualifying status.

Note that the PU LLB results have been prepared by giving:

• 50% weightage to marks scored in the PU LLB 2025 entrance exam
• 50% weightage to marks obtained in the qualifying exam. 

How to check PU LLB 2025 results

2. In the log-in window that opens, enter your login id and password
3. The result would be displayed on the screen
4. Download and take a printout of the result.

Punjab University conducts the counselling of PU LLB in offline mode. Candidates who are included in the merit list are eligible to participate in the counselling process. The PU LLB 2025 counselling will include steps like document verification; it is mandatory to complete the verification process. Candidates whose verification process is unsuccessful will no longer be considered for admission in the next round. The seat allotment will be based on the merit rank of the candidate, with higher-ranked candidates to be given priority. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the following criteria, in case of ties: 

1. A candidate getting a higher percentage of marks in the qualifying examination (bachelor's degree) shall rank higher in order of merit.
2. If the marks, as mentioned in (i) are also the same then the candidate obtaining a higher percentage of marks in the immediate lower exam shall rank higher in order of merit.
3. If two or more candidates secure equal marks in (i) and (ii) above, the candidate senior in age shall rank higher in order of merit
