Students can earn advanced certification in AI/ML, Cybersecurity, Quality Engineering, or Big Data through RNTU's integrated programmes.
RNTU formed CRIG (Core Research and Innovation Group) in 2017 to develop research facilities and create an environment conducive to research and innovation. CRIG is an excellent example of collaboration, with five AGU universities collaborating in a multi-institutional fashion to make the most efficient use of resources. The research facility was first funded with one crore by RNTU, which focuses on research-led education. Starting in 2017, the CRIG will get an annual seed fund of Rs 1 crore. Material science, solar and wind energy, agriculture science, and literature arts are the key research fields selected.
For a larger and better exposure, RNTU interacts with several international universities and corporations. In Art & Culture, Energy, Technology, Entrepreneurship, Earth and Space, Agriculture, IoT & Advanced Computing, and other fields, 14 Centres of Excellence (COE) have been established. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra provides students with hands-on experience in skills, and more than 300 firms, including Tech Mahindra, Genpact, HCL, Paytm, Vedanta, and Wipro, recruit for placements.
The Shiksha Mitra Scholarship Scheme, which was created at Rabindranath Tagore University, offers merit-based scholarships to students. RNTU wants to encourage students to be more entrepreneurial and strengthen the startup environment. In addition, RNTU has created a Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) to equip students with practical skills training. To provide short-term certificate courses for skill development, the university collaborates with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), several Sector Skills Councils such as BFSI, ASCI, ASDC, GJSCI, and RASCI, as well as overseas universities.
