Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for the B.Tech at RTU?

A:

So, when it comes to your educational qualifications, completing your 12th grade is a must. You know, that stage where you finish up high school. In your 12th grade, you gotta have Physics and Mathematics in your curriculum, no escaping those! Along with those, you'llneed to pick one more subject among Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or Computer Science. Its likes a trio dance and with subjects! Now, about the mark's, they do matter.

The minimum score you qouta aim for in your trio subjects, typically hovers around 45% if you're in the General category. But if you fall under reserved categories like SC-ST-OBC-SBC, it's a bit more relaxed, around (40%). So its like setting your bar for success. And then there's the big one  the entrance exam, the JEE Main. This is like the golden ticket for admission's to B.Tech programs at RTU (Rajasthan Technical University). Your score here is crucial. The higher percentile you notch up in JEE Main, the better your chances are of landing a seat in those coveted programs. It's like the key to unlocking your dream program at RTU!

Success Rate of Placement Cell in Securing Jobs for B.E./B.Tech Students

Based on the reviews from students and alumni, the success rate of the placement cell in securing jobs for B.E./B.Tech students at Rajastan Technical University (RTU) is moderate. Here are some key points:

* Placement Cell Efforts: The placement cell is considered to be effective, with many companies visiting the campus for placements, including reputed ones like Infosys, TCS, HCL, and L&T.
* Job Offers: According to some students, the average salary package offered ranges between INR3.2 Lacs to INR5 Lacs per annum.

Offered by Sobhasaria Group of Institutions

Sobhasaria college review | reality of Sobhasaria College.
Placements: Last year's placement percentage was around 20-30%. The highest and lowest salary packages ranged between 2-5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Prodesk, Intellipath, etc. Around 70% of students secured internships by various online platforms. Top-tier companies generally don't visit our college every year.
Infrastructure: Hostel facility is top-notch here. College provides various sports activities, especially for hostelers, such as cricket, indoor badminton, basketball, volleyball, etc. Hostel also has a combined gym for both girls and boys. Food quality is awesome. On special occasions, the mess serves special dishes. Infrastructure is pretty good. All the equipment is up-to-date like Wi-Fi, computers, printers, etc. Classrooms are average and do not have smart boards.
Faculty: Some faculty members are helpful, while some of them are strict with traditional rules. In the Computer Science department, some faculty members do not have enough teaching experience, but they still try to teach. After completing the course, students don't have enough knowledge for jobs or internships from this college. Semester exams are complex enough, and students need to study before 1-2 days from the exams. Passing percentage is around 80%.
Other: I joined this college as a last option because of COVID-19. All the faculty members should be changed to more experienced ones. College also needs to improve the course outline, subjects, and lab practices. Subjects taught in this course are outdated. College life is pretty good here. Events are organized frequently by different departments, such as Nawras by the BCA department and the annual event by the B.Tech department.

One of the best and only one college for textile engineering in Rajasthan.
Placements: I don't know the exact percentage of placed students, but according to me, about 80% of textile branch students are placed. Other branches like CSE, ECE, IT, and ME have a 40-50% placement rate. The Information Technology (IT) branch has more placements, while CSE is a newer branch in our college, and the first batch of CSE will graduate in 2025.
Infrastructure: The campus has Wi-Fi, but it is only available in specific areas. The labs for CS are well-equipped, but ECE labs are not as good, with some devices not functioning properly. However, textile labs are well-maintained and provide excellent exposure to industrial setups and practical knowledge.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful, but some are not committed to completing the syllabus effectively. A few seem focused only on finishing the course, regardless of whether students understand the material. The pass percentage is relatively high, around 80-90%. The course curriculum is well-designed and industry-oriented.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest. This branch is the best as it offers many opportunities. Our college actively participates in various activities like cultural events and technical fests.

3Placements2Infrastructure3Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life2Value for Money
I am not so satisfied with the rules and regulations making it like a school.
Placements: The placement percent in my college is approximately 60%, with the highest package being 7.5 LPA and the average being 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Polycab, etc. After every even semester, internships are offered by Railways or BHEL. Roles offered include being a part of the core group of the company.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is quite decent. There is a library with an AC facility, but the library staff is very strict. There is no AC in classrooms, only in some labs. The lab equipment is old, not the latest. The hostel is actually quite good. There are AC rooms, attached washrooms, canteens, and proper medical facilities. There are sports facilities in our college, but not a proper cricket ground.
Faculty: The teachers of our college are highly qualified but are also stereotypical. They have vast knowledge, but the behavior of some teachers towards students is not good. The teaching quality is good most of the time. The curriculum is too lengthy, especially for our branch, which lacks proper practical knowledge. The semester exams are not too tough, but the checking is awkward. The pass percentage is around 50.
Other: B.Tech is obviously a big technical degree. The best thing about this course is that it gives you practical knowledge. The need for more practical knowledge than theory requires improvement. Our college, most of the time, focuses only on studies and course completion. There is only a single fest held in our college in a year.

B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2023
Offered by Engineering College, Ajmer

My college journey in Engineering College Ajmer.
Placements: Less than 20% took placement in recent years, with an average package of 2.5 lakhs. The highest is around 7 to 8 lakhs by Adani and L&T groups. The college doesn’t offer any internships for students, but NWR Loco Workshop Ajmer and Carriage Workshop offer internships for engineering training.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is kind of good. It has a land space of 300 acres, but only 50 acres of land is utilized for now. There are 3 big campus buildings for classes and labs, with a central courtyard, a separate building for the mechanical workshop, 13 girls’ hostels, and a separate library building, which is a good thing here. The college also has a guest house and sports facilities built in a different building, but there is no amphitheater for stage programs. The sports playground is very poor, and the connecting roads and paths are newly built.
Faculty: The teachers and faculty are very friendly here. They are supportive of all students. My personal experience with the mechanical department faculty was excellent. Teachers like Dr. Chandan Sharma and Dr. Tarun Aseri are very responsive to guidance. These two are also my project mentors. During my college project, they supported me with the necessary contacts, knowledge, and other information about engineering challenges for the project. They also provide us with room facilities on campus for easy communication between the project group and the mentor.

Absolutely satisfied because of faculty, good placements in 2024, average infra and facilities.
Placements: Mostly, companies are mass recruiters with an average package of 5-6 LPA, along with some big recruiters like ServiceNow and Flipkart, with 12-15 LPA. This year, in 2023-24, the average package is around 6.5 LPA, and the core branch has a 7-8 LPA average. The highest package is around 52 LPA from Microsoft and 33 LPA from Amazon.
Infrastructure: Decent infrastructure, but not that great when it comes to comparing feels vs infrastructure. Overall, it is satisfactory, and the labs are also good, while the washrooms and cafeteria are decent enough, except for the D-block, which has the best infrastructure in terms of everything.
Faculty: As the college is affiliated with RTU Kota, it is still following the old Indian curriculum, with the first year being wasted on teaching all engineering subjects and not teaching branch-related concepts in the first year. From the second year, students are taught their main subjects, like C++, OOPS, etc.

Honest review of Gurukul Institute of Engineering and Technology .
Placements: I am in my fourth year at the CSE branch and there has been no placement or I have not heard of any company that has come for placement till now. They have mentioned many companies in their brochure but none of them is there for placement until now in 2024. Please don't take admission here if you want on-campus placements.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is the biggest flaw of this college after placements. There is a lab for CSE students but the system doesn't work. The computers there are only for online examinations or showpieces. Classroom walls are dirty but okay. You can study there. There are hostel facilities available but I don't know about food. There is a small canteen or it would be better if you called it a shop. There is a cricket field, volleyball and a basketball court. They also organize sports events every year.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and experienced but some faculty members are below average; their teaching quality is poor and you can't understand a single topic taught by them. They help you if you are stuck and repeat the topic if you want. The course curriculum is the same as at every college affiliated with RTU. It is also affiliated with RTU. I would say the course curriculum doesn't make students industry ready but this is the same for almost every college. Passing semester exams is either easy or moderately difficult. Semester exams are taken by RTU itself, and the center is any other college.
Other: I would like to add that this college is best for those students who want a decent college to complete a B.Tech. As there is no pressure for attendance, it is also good for those students who want to prepare for GATE or any other government competition exams while pursuing B.Tech. There are fests like freshers parties, sports tournaments, and other Indian festive celebrations, but keep in mind that you have to pay for each event.
