I am satisfied with our university, but I hope it will improve in the coming years.
Placements: Our college name has changed to the Pandit Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts. There is no placement cell in our university. As a part of our curriculum, there is a year of practical training (internship) which students have to apply on their own.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and labs are fully furnished, and students are being taught practically as well as through digital learning. Our university lacks plotters which we require to print sheets although we have one at our stationery. But it costs very much for the students, so there should be a plotter for us which can print sheets at subsidised rates. Now, in the hostel, we lack medical facilities, but staff members are very active to take us to the nearest hospital in terms of emergency. But the hostel lacks basic medical facilities.
Faculty: Faculty members here are really qualified and pay personal attention to every student. They are available after college hours also for clearing our doubts and queries. All the faculty members hold a masters degree and are also from very reputed colleges. However, the quality of their teaching is very good. But what is there in the industry is completely different from what they taught because they are teaching the basics.
Other: As of now, fests are not being held in our college.

Very much satisfied with my university.
Placements: No placements are available in the university. Some suggestions are provided by the faculties itself for the internship in the last year. After that, we are on our own. Usually the jobs are found by giving interviews by yourself in different companies.
Infrastructure: Very well designed by Ar. Raj Real. Beautiful landscapes in the university campus. Classrooms, lecture rooms, labs etc. Are designed quite well. A central library in the university and seperate ones in every department are provided. Only girls hostel is available in the campus.
Faculty: Faculty members are very supportive and encouraging. The teaching quality of the faculty members is quite satisfying. The teachers are highly qualified and have great knowledge. The faculty members are very friendly and helpful. The whole course curriculum is relevant.

Students also asked

Q:   Is State University of Performing and Visual Arts a good college?

A:

It is one of the finest institutions in terms of infrastructural building, but the administration is up for consideration. It does not provide job placement, but instead caters to equipping students with skill sets required for independent dealing in the job market. The college encourages use of such facilities as an voluminous library, film screenings and practical project launches. Infrastructure The infrastructure is excellent, but not particularly strong on maintenance and utility issues including lack of Wi-Fi at many places and no hostel for boys in the campus. Strong sports infrastructure is available: two table tennis courts but average food and poor medical facilities.

The faculty is not very effective and is perceived differently; while the direction, editing, and the audiography department is sound and of high standard, the cinematography departments are highly dependent on the single teacher and does not meet up the expectation. In addition, guest faculty benefits the student when it comes to workshops. The relevance of the curriculum to the industry is mainly practical in the form of exams through a film project, but not so structured as a syllabus. One thing I have always loved about light, color, and the dramaturgic qualities of visual storytelling is cinematography. Tuition fees are very low, while the beautiful colors of the campus, besides all the creativity, stimulates minds and enriched conversations, making for an exciting learning experience.
