B.Sc. in Botany - Batch of 2019
Offered by Christ College,Cuttack
4.2

Cooperative teachers and average infra.
Placements: There were many placements in the banking sector for 20k-25k per month. In the final year of your course, many banks like SBI and ICICI come for placement. They conduct interviews on the college campus. Around 50 percent of the students who applied got the job.
Infrastructure: The botany classroom has a digital board. The classrooms are very good and clean. There is a botanical garden for botany students. Also, there are 2 laboratories for +2 and +3 students. All the equipment required for experiments is present in the laboratory. You can get books from the seminar by paying 1/5th of the mentioned price of the book, but you have to return it after the end of the semester. The canteen is also present. Sports activities like cricket, football, badminton, etc., are also available. Wi-Fi is there, but the Wi-Fi is not for students; it is only for teachers.
Faculty: Most of the teachers in botany are very cooperative. They are very qualified, with many teachers holding Ph.D. degrees. They make you feel like family in the classroom. They interact with students in the classroom. Semester exams are conducted by Utkal University and are not so difficult.
Other: I chose B.Sc. so that I can prepare for government jobs. Christ College conducts many events and fests, like the annual function and sports day. But my favorite time in college was during Christmas. The Christmas carol occurs every year, and the college is decorated with lights. Government scholarships can be availed by students.

Excellent environment and college.
Placements: There are 40 to 50 percent of students who were placed in various companies, and some of the students own their personal businesses, etc. The highest package value is 3.6 lakhs/year, and the lowest is something 2.5 to 3 lakhs, and the college gives all the efforts to the students.
Infrastructure: Yes, the availability of Wi-Fi, labs in the classroom, and library is here, and the quality of food offerings in the college canteen is average, and the hostel facilities are also good enough. There is a huge playground at our college, and the college organization offers sports every year.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are very helpful, and they are very much qualified and knowledgeable. The quality of their teaching method is also very good. There are no difficulties for semester exams because the students are prepared with knowledge, and the pass percentage is about 80 to 90 percent.
Other: I chose this course because I want to be a lecturer in my life, and it is the basis of that.

College is really good in terms of education, and you'll even find lovable and entertaining friends.
Placements: Our college doesn't provide placements, and internships are based on our own hard work and dedication. The college doesn't take responsibility for providing internships. Even though it's a government college, placements and internships are totally up to the students. If we want to apply for internships, the teachers will help us find good opportunities, but the college itself isn't responsible for that.
Infrastructure: The college has Wi-Fi, labs, well-maintained classrooms, and a studious environment. There is a library filled with books. The hostel and canteen food is pretty good, but it may not provide all necessary nutrients. In terms of sports, the college motivates and encourages students to engage in games, and there is also an NCC group.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, friendly, and brilliant. The semester exams are moderately difficult, and the grading is fair, with a passing percentage of 33% or 4 SGPA. In our major department, the teachers are especially motivating, encouraging students to do well both in college and in real life. Semester exams aren't too difficult if we start studying about a week before.
Other: I really like mathematics, and I learned that the faculty members of BJB College are excellent and cooperative. It would have been better if they provided internships and placements without so much difficulty. The college plans regular events and fests, offers scholarships, and encourages extracurricular activities.

It is a good college.
Placements: They don't have a placement system in our college, but they guide us for different opportunities. They conduct external seminars for our knowledge on the outside world and job opportunities that are there for us. They also provide us with knowledge of other activities excluding our topic-based jobs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good, but the infrastructure of our boys' hostel is very bad. We don't have any proper rooms; there are lots of mosquitoes near our hostel. Except for our boys' hostel, all other campus buildings are good. The sports facilities are very bad here. They don't have any proper ground for different sports activities.
Faculty: I can't speak for other faculties, but our Zoology department has very good facilities. They help us every time and teach us many things outside our course. They properly guide us and help us in adapting to different situations by letting us experience it, like how to give a seminar or how to use technology. The faculty members are best.

Good to take admission and grasp knowledge in less fees.
Placements: There are no placements provided by our university for this particular course. When we joined this college, they informed us earlier because we didn't want to betray them. Other courses provide placements and internships in good companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our university is very good. There is more space on our campus. They provide the hostel. The food of the hostel is average. There are different fees for air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned hostels. The food is the same for all. The canteen is small in our university.
Faculty: Faculty members are genuinely good. All of them are kind but sometimes they are very rude because of some very effective reasons. They teach us theory very well and provide knowledge about marketing recent strategies. It gives news of current affairs.
Other: I chose this course because it is my personal choice or interest in this course. This is useful for our real life as well as daily life. The campus is very good in our university because this is a state university.

You can easily get accommodation facility near the college. There are many PGs for boys and girls available in BJB Nagar.
Faculty: The teachers were good. They are eager to share their knowledge if you are willing to learn. They are very cooperative.
