Q: What is the fees for CA Final exam?
The fees for CA Final course (New and Old Schemes) is INR 1,800 for single group and INR 3,300 for both groups. Candidates have to pay the fee at the time of online form submission. Candidates must submit the fee and application form before the deadline otherwise they will have to pay an additional amount of INR 600 as late fee. The fee is non-refundable. The fee payment is to be done through credit card, debit card or net banking. Unless the fee is paid, the course or exam application form will not be submitted. Candidate will receive acknowledgement in mail upon successful transaction.
Q: What is the mode of application submission for CA exams?
The application form submission mode for CA exams is online. Candidates have to fill and submit ICAI CA exam forms on the official website of the exam agency only. The ICAI does not host the exam form at any other website. Candidates must avoid filling the exam form through any other means or platform to prevent fraud. The CA exam forms are available only at icai.org or icaiexam.icai.org websites. There is no provision to submit the forms online either. Candidates have to fill the form by creation a login ID. The login ID created for first time registration can be used for all further activities related to the CA course.
Q: In how many cities is ICAI CA exam held?
CA exams are held in over 150 cities across India and in 8 overseas locations – Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Kampala, Kathmandu, Kuwait and Muscat. Candidates can choose their preferred test cities while filling the CA exam application form. If they wish to change the test city preference, they can do so only when the form correction window is open.

What is CA Final Exam 2024?
CA Final Exam is the course level exam conducted to assess the candidates training and skills in Chartered Accountancy. CA Final is the third and last course level of Chartered Accountancy. It is conducted by the ICAI. The same organization regulates the CA profession in India. The CA course has three levels- CA Foundation, CA Intermediate and CA Final. To reach CA Final level, candidates have to clear CA Foundation and CA Intermediate levels.

Q: What is the passing marks in CA Final?
The passing marks for CA Final is minimum of 40 per cent aggregate in each individual subject and 50 per cent aggregate of all the subjects at one sitting in either both the groups or a single group. Candidates who do not score the minimum percentage, have to take the exam again in the next cycle.
Students can make as many attempts as they can because, to complete the Chartered Accountancy course, one needs to clear all the course levels with passing marks. The CA course is of a very high difficulty level and even the toppers manage to score not more than 70-75 per cent. A large number of students cannot clear a course level in one go. The pass percentage hovers around 25 to 30 percentile.

After completing CA Final course, students can start independent practice or join an auditing firm as chartered accountant or analyst. If they join an auditing firm or a company, then they can seek full-time employment. Q: What if I don't clear the CA Final course? Can I reappear for the exam?
If a candidate is unable to clear the CA Final course exam in the first attempt, they can reappear. The initial registration for Final Course is valid for five years, which means each candidate gets 10 attempts. After five years, they can register again for the next five years. The certificate to practice Chartered Accountancy as a profession is given to any student by the ICAI only after they clear the final level. Irrespective of the number of attempts they have made to clear it. Until they clear the CA Final level and get the certificate, they cannot practice as a professional.

Q: Who prescribes CA syllabus?
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, the agency that conducts and regulates CA profession in the country, prescribes the CA syllabus for all three levels- Foundation, Intermediate and Final as well as other courses/certifications. They are the sole authority in India for deciding the syllabus, pattern, course structure, pedagogy, exam, eligibility, fees and CA certification. When candidates complete the CA Foundation, Intermediate and Final courses, then the ICAI offers certification to them for professional practice. Only ICAI certification is considered valid in India for practice of Chartered Accountancy as a profession.

Q: Is there any change in the CA Foundation syllabus?
No, there is no change in the syllabus of any of the CA papers for sessions of 2024. The course training and examinations for 2024 are based on the previously available CA syllabus. The syllabus and sample questions papers can be downloaded from the ICAI CA website. It is also shared with students upon registration. To further familiarize candidates with the syllabus of CA Foundation, CA Intermediate and CA Final courses, the ICAI conducts mock test sessions which registered candidates can take as per the schedule.
ICAI CA Final Eligibility Criteria 2024
- The candidate who have passed the CA Intermediate examination or Professional Education Examination – II/PCC/IPCC, are eligible to apply for the CA Final exam
- They must also have completed 3 years or 3½ years or must be due to complete, as the case may be, of article training as on the date of filling the form
- For PE-II stream student and PE-II stream students converted to IPCC – Also, they must be serving the last twelve months of articled training including excess leave, if any, and due to complete 3 years on or before October 31 of the examination year.
- For PCC stream students - The candidate must be serving the last six months of articled training including excess leave if any, and due to complete 3½ years on or before 30th April of the examination year
- For Intermediate IPCC students – The candidate must be serving the last six months of training including excess leave if any, and due to complete 3 years on or before April 30 of the examination year.
- For students converted from PE-II to PCC as well as for students converted from PE-II to PCC and then to IPCC - The candidate must be serving the last twelve months of training including excess leave if any, and due to complete 3½ years articles on or before October 31 of the examination year.
- Candidates who have taken termination are advised to re-register for the balance period of training

Q: Can I crack CA Final by self-study?
It is not easy to crack CA Final by self study as one needs guidance and mentorship at various stages of preparation. Most of the CA students opt for coaching as it helps them study in a disciplined and dedicated manner. However, one can also crack the CA Final course level by self-study, if they are determined, dedicated and disciplined in their preparation. Also refer to the study material provided by the ICAI. To prepare by self study, one will need to first set clear goals, make a study time table and prioritise subjects. They will need to allocate a good number of hours daily to study. Practice test and revision are integral part of exam preparation, so the practice a good number of previous years question papers and sample papers.

Q: How to download CA admit card?
To download the ICAI CA admit card, candidates have to log in to their ICAI account with the login ID and password created at the time of registration. Once they log in, they will be able to see the option to download the admit card on the dashboard. Click on the option and download the admit card. Here’s the process of CA admit card explained in steps:
Step 1: Log on to the eservices website of the ICAI
Step 2: Click on the text indicating admit card for your exam group
Step 3: Enter registration number and password
Step 4: Login to go to student dashboard
Step 5: Click on the admit card and download it
Q: I have forgotten my ICAI login password? How do I download CA result?
If you’ve forgotten your login password for ICAI account, you don’t need to worry. You can recover/change it by using the forgot password feature available on the login page. To recover your password or create a new password for ICAI login, you can go to the login option on the homepage of official website, click on ‘forgot password’ option and follow the instructions. The new password will be created and you can use the new password, for downloading your result, merit list or filling the forms. Keep the password safe or note it down so that you don’t have to keep changing it for every login attempt.
Q: Can I change my test city after submitting the CA exam form?
Yes, candidates can change their test city preference after submitting the CA exam form but they can do so only when the examination authority opens the form correction window. The form correction facility is opened for 2-3 days in every exam phase. The form correction window usually opens a day after the last date of CA exam form submission. During the form correction window, candidates can change image, signature, test cities and exam medium.
CA form correction is a one-time activity and of you don’t make the changes in the form while the window is open, you will not be allowed to make any changes in the form later.
Q: I had created a ICAI CA login ID earlier. Can I use the same to fill the form again?
Yes, in case you have created login from November / December 2016 CA exam onwards, you don’t need to recreate the login even if you have converted to New Course. You can log in with your credentials and avail the services offered by the ICAI.
In fact, once you have created a login ID for the CA course, be it at the time of registering for the CA Foundation course after Class 10 or 12, or at the time of registering for CA Intermediate after graduation, you will not have to create a login ID again for rest of the course levels and activities.
