An Academic Exploration: Discovering Myself Through My Experience at JMIT
My Interest in Technology
We all say that choosing a path of career is not easy, but it all started with my interest in technology.
Since I was intrigued by how websites worked, I swooned over the prospect of studying Computer Science at JMIT.
In my Classes 11 and 12, I opted for Science with a specialisation in Computer Applications, which further aroused my curiosity. However, online courses during this period helped me create my first project in Web Design, which made me feel that I was achieving something. It also gave me a sense of direction.
I was so much confused, but JMIT gave me the feel of a perfect college. The admission process was easy, and I was thrilled to begin this new phase of my life. On my first day stepping into JMIT, I was both anxious and excited.
Experience at the College
My first year at the college was spent understanding and learning. Though adapting to college life was a challenge, I soon began to love working on projects with my classmates. My proudest project was creating a responsive portfolio website. It built up my confidence and showed me what I was capable of accomplishing. I participated in college events, which was an opportunity for me to showcase my ideas and experience.
My experiences during this journey with the college are worth billions and are packed in an emotional suitcase that I will carry with me as I move forward in all my endeavours.
The first day I set foot in the faculty, I was met by a culture of mutual support; professors who were always available to answer questions and classmates who were in the same frame of mind. Such experience has made me who I am, both personally and professionally. Every project, challenge or achievement has helped me move closer to my goal of being able to change the world in an impactful and positive way in the world of tech. I want to go beyond my Web Development experience into more complex fields such as AI and Machine Learning. Both these fields can change the way we use technology, and I want to be involved in the upcoming evolution. I strive to do more.
While studying at this college, I used to help my classmates most of the time and had conversations about the creative ideas that inspired me. Moving forward, I seek to give back to the tech community. This has not just been a college, rather it has been the platform for my dreams. It taught me the importance of persistence.
Looking Back at My College Experience
I am thankful for all that this college has given me. I have learned to work hard, to get back up, and to believe in myself. This space helped me realise my true potential and prepared me to face the world.
If I could study further, I would like to go deep into domains like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. I love the thought of intertwining these technologies with Web Development, and I look forward to doing something great with this one day. JMIT has been a lot more than a college to me, it has been a pilgrimage.
Now, as I prepare to take the next steps in my career, I feel ready to face challenges and seize opportunities. I’m excited to bring my ideas to life and make a positive impact on the world, armed with the skills and confidence I’ve gained.
