Q:   How is the library at Jindal Global Business School?

A:

The four-storeyed academic block divided into three blocks– T1, T2, and T3– is an ornamental attraction in itself. It has a massive build-up area of 3,00,000 sq. ft. and is designed by an acclaimed French architect Stephane Paumier, bringing with him the artistic euphoria of the Renaissance. As a tribute to Naveen Jindal, the Chairman of Jindal Steel and Power Limited, the academic block is bejeweled by a multitude of crisscrossed steel girders.

Inside this towering building are its magnificent classrooms of two types. The first is a parliament-type room with four layers of curved wooden desks and cushioned blue chairs arranged along an increasing slope. From above, it looks like the seating arrangements in the parliament. The classrooms also have state-of-the-art audio-visual systems, centralised AC, LED lighting, and a projector.

Similarly, the type-II classrooms are like a conference hall with a three-layer vertical seating system with cushioned office chairs on the left and right sides of the presenter/ teacher’s table, and two layers of desks in front of the teacher’s table. With multiple gateways to enter, this classroom has transparent French windows draped with crimson-red shutters. It also has two projectors on the sides and an interactive LCD TV in the middle.

Global Jindal’s library, occupying a massive 10,000 sq. ft. area in the academic building, has around 70,000 books, monographs, research publications, reports, periodicals, etc., divided into general and reference collections. Finally, Jindal Global Business School is a fully-residential campus with outstanding accommodation facilities for the students. The University Hall of Residence, as they call it, is also designed by Paumier, with spacious corridors, open spaces, and common rooms for recreation in all three blocks, with separate blocks for male and female students. The aesthetically finished rooms follow international standards with picturesque surrounding with lawns, trees, and bushes. The accommodation for male students is on a triple-sharing basis, whereas that of female students is on a quadruple-sharing. Moreover, there are dedicated spaces for recreation, including mini gymnasiums and indoor and outdoor sports areas.

Sodexo, a French multinational, manages the dining. However, a first-class kitchen is also available where a wide array of cuisines is prepared and served. The university also has multiple food courts, including Subway, Burger Point, Domino’s Pizza, BRC, Bercos, etc. They also have tuck shops for tea, coffee, juice, and snacks. However, being a fully-residential campus, the University does not offer any transportation facility for students. It’s a self-sufficient campus meeting every need of the students.

To sum up, life at Jindal Global Business School is breathtakingly spectacular. The campus is stunningly self-sufficient and aesthetically pleasing. It is a place where world-class infrastructure meets the beauty of the eyes, with a picturesque campus area, academic block with criss-cross cantilevers, well-equipped computer labs, smart classrooms, state-of-the-art library, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, recreational areas, conference hall, auditorium, and an amphitheater, and world-class accommodation and dining facilities.
