According to the reports, there is no change in the submission date of the assignments. However, new dates for the IGNOU June Term End Exam will be released after reviewing the prevailing situation.
In the midst of extended lockdown due to the coronavirus until May 17, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) postponed the June term end exam. The exam was scheduled to be conducted on June 1. According to the reports, the revised set of dates for the IGNOU June Term End Exam will be decided later taking cognizance of the situation. The Vice-Chancellor of the Open University, Professor Nageshwar Rao assured that the students will be informed at least 15 days in advance.
Earlier, IGNOU extended the last date for IGNOU June 2020 assignment submission for June term-end examination again. According to the reports, there is no change in the submission date of the assignments. Candidates can now submit their assignments for the June 2020 term-end examination by May 31. The postponement took place as a precautionary measure against the rapidly spreading disease COVID-19 or Coronavirus. According to the reports, Students can submit the form before May 15. After May 15, the candidates will be charged late fees until May 31.
The Open University took the decision to extend the submission date after the learner support service activities at all regional centers and Learners Support Centers (LSC) across the country got postponed due to the nationwide lockdown to control the COVID-19 spread. Earlier, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) stated that the last date to submit the assignments for June 2020 Term-end-Examination has been extended up to April 30.
For the convenience of the students, IGNOU made provisions for students to submit the assignments online. The Open University started accepting the assignments online when the submission dates got postponed until April 30. The Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre, Noida, stated that for the convenience of students, the Open University developed an email address on which students can submit their handwritten assignments.
He further added that the last date for submission of assignment at the Learner Support Centre (LSC) is extended to April 30. However, as an interim arrangement during the lockdown period due to COVID-19, learners of Regional Centre, Noida who shall be appearing in TEE June 2020 may submit their scanned hand-written assignments to RC Noida mail ID rcnoidaassignmentsou.ac.in till lockdown is lifted.
IGNOU Assignments Online: Steps to submit
Step 1: Prepare an assignment following the guidelines mentioned in the assignment list available online on the IGNOU website
Step 2: The assignment must not be typed on a computer.
Step 3: Scan the handwritten assignment
Step 4: Submit the scanned copy of the assignment via email at 'rcnoidaassignmentsou.ac.in'
Students must note that the assignments carry 30% weightage out of the total marks.
Initially, the candidates were supposed to submit the assignment by March 31, 2020. The postponement of multiple events including submission form as well as assignments took place due to the outbreak of the deadly virus COVID-19.
State governments and regional authorities announced the closure of academic institutions, colleges, schools, universities, cinema halls, sports complexes and other places that attract large gatherings to avoid the spread of the disease. The closure is not only affecting the examination cycle, but it is also raising concerns among the students regarding results, entrance exams, college admissions, placements and more.
