MHRD ordered NTA to postpone the last date of application submission of ICAR Exam, JNU Entrance Exam, UGC NET, CSIR NET, NCHM JEE, IGNOU PhD and others. 

Human Resource and Development Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishak ordered National Testing Agency (NTA) to postpone the last date of the application process of various entrance exams by one month. India is fighting a battle against the deadly contagious disease the novel coronavirus. To combat the virus spread, on March 24, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared a nationwide lockdown and advised people to stay inside their homes and practice social distancing.

There is no doubt saying that these are testing times. The education system is ruptured, people’s health is at stake and the economy is severely affected. In this time of crisis, the HRD Minister ordered NTA to give some more time to the students to participate in the application process and submit their application forms.

Directing NTA, Mr Pokhriyal stated that to enable students to fill up their application forms during these testing times, he has advised NTA to postpone the last date of acceptance of applications of ICAR Exam, JNU Entrance Exam, UGC NET, CSIR NET, NCHM JEE, IGNOU PhD and Management Entrance Exams by 1 month. In his next tweet, the minister mentioned that he also advised the National Testing Agency to postpone the application process of the All India Ayush PG Entrance Test (AIPAGET) by one month. 

In view of the hardships faced by the parents and the students due to COVID-19 the epidemic, the National Testing Agency has extended/ revised the dates of submission of Online Application Forms for various Examinations.

So far, the COVID-19 virus has claimed 29 lives in India. The total positive coronavirus cases in India have reached 1199.
