Delhi University Open Book Exam 2020: Delhi HC asks DU to provide scribes to Visually Impaired Students

DU OBE 2020: Delhi High Court directed the University of Delhi to provide scribes who can assist visually impaired students to appear for the DU Open Book Exams 2020 via online mode. According to the latest reports, scribes are to be made available to students at the common service centres (CSCs) that are designated for the examination. Delhi HC directed the varsity to make scribes available to the students who if they have opted for one for the Final Year Exams 2020 that are scheduled to commence soon.

The DU Administration is also directed by the Delhi High Court’s bench consisting of Justices Hima Kohli and Subramonium Prasad to provide at least two reading materials or textbooks of each paper to the visually handicapped student. Students are given 1 weeks’ time to make a formal request for the same to the university administration. Meanwhile, the court also informed the varsity that the National Federation of the Blind has come forward and graciously agreed to provide assistive devices to the visually impaired students during exams.

DU OBE Result Date 2020

The Delhi HC clearly stated that the varsity needs to inform the date on which it plans to release DU OBE Results 2020. The direction is given considering the importance of timely conduct of the exam and the issuance of DU Results 2020 for the final year students who need to plan for their academic or professional future ahead. Moreover, the court also asked the University of Delhi to formally announce the date of the physical re-exam that will be held for the students, who couldn’t appear for the OBE in August 2020. The court also asked the varsity to ensure that digital certificates/ results are sent to students through e-mail.
