The University of Delhi (DU) has announced that it will be holding the convocation ceremony for graduates of 2019-20 on February 27. The convocation ceremony will be conducted in a hybrid mode -- in-person and virtually. The varsity will be conducting it online as well considering the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country.

“It is notified for information to all concerned that the 97th Annual Convocation of the University of Delhi is scheduled to be held on Saturday, 27 February 2021 from 10.00 a.m. onwards at Multipurpose Hall, Delhi University Sports Stadium Complex, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007. All are advised to visit the University website www.du.ac.in for further details and updates,” read the official notification.

The postgraduate students who completed their course in 2019-20 will be awarded degrees along with MPhil and PhD scholars who completed their course the same year.

Earlier, the varsity had announced that it is planning to set up an overseas campus to make the most of the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

“We want to expand the scope of education across the world. The revised NEP has given a golden opportunity to universities, and we want to make the most of it. We are looking to expand our campus and some of the places under consideration are Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Singapore and Mauritius,”, the varsity's vice-chancellor Professor P C Joshi said.

“We have a strong alumni network based in the south Asian sub-continent, and we wish to channelize all our resources to develop a strong international presence,” he added.
