DU Admissions 2021 to not be based on CUCET, the varsity announced. Read further to know more about the DU Admissions.
DU Admissions 2021: The Delhi University has announced that in wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the DU Admissions 2021 process will be on merit-base last previous years and CUCET 2021 will not be implemented this year. The announcement comes soon after University Grants Commission directed all the Central Universities in the country, to follow the admission process during the academic session 2021-22 as per past practices and Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) may be implemented from Academic Session 2022-23.
DU Admissions 2021 for Undergraduate and postgraduate courses will begin from August 2 and July 26 respectively. Like every year, Delhi University Admissions 2021 for UG courses for the academic year 2021-22 will be merit-based and take place on the basis of DU Cut-off 2021 list.
With the delay in the announcement of Board Exams 2021 Results by CBSE and other state boards, the DU Admission 2021 which was slated to begin from July 15, got delayed by another 15 days.
UGC in its notification stated that, "Taking into account the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation, the preparatory time required to conduct a test, and the need to start the new academic session without much delay, it is felt that the CUCET may be implemented from the Academic Session 2022-23."
It must be noted that the DU Admission process for UG courses will be done on or before August 31 and will be conducted online. While speaking to shiksha.com, Rajeev Gupta, the chairman for admissions, said โadmissions to undergraduate merit-based programmes will be based on cut-off marks as per past practice.โ The admission branch was also working with college principals on the modalities for deciding the cut-offs.
