Extracurricular Activities at Pune University

A long, closed-loop walking track was laid near the main entrance gate of the Pune University as a part of its Golden Jubilee Celebrations in 1999, which now attracts a huge number of students (joggers and walkers)

The Pune University campus is sprawled over 411 acres providing necessary facilities for the all-round development of its students. It has basketball courts, four auditoriums, an amphitheater, volleyball courts, cricket grounds, football grounds, a gymnasium, and even a huge sports complex. The Sports Complex has a large and open ground for outdoor Indian and European team games as well as athletics. In addition to this, facilities are available for indoor games with an accommodation of 80 sportspersons (male and female). An Olympic size pool is also being constructed for the students.

Savitribai Phule Pune University is recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC) along with AIU. Interestingly, SPPU is popularly known as the 'Oxford of the East'. The University has been graded 'A' by National Assessment and Accreditation Council. Savitribai Phule Pune University (also known as UNIPUNE, Pune University and SPPU), located at Pune, was established in 1949 through Poona University ACT. Therefore, it can be concluded that SPPU is one of the premier universities of India.

MIT is originally affiliated with the University of Pune and is now under Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Nashik. Apart from this, it is recognised by the Medical Council of India. Maharashtra Institute of Technology World Peace University (MIT Pune) is a state-private university located in Maharashtra. Established in 2017, the University is a part of MAEER MIT Group of Institutions.

Q:   Are MBA dates out at UNIPUNE?

A:

MBA aadmission at UNIPUNE is subject to the entrance exams, CMAT/ CAT/ MAH CET. Therefore, candidates need to watch out for the important dates of CAT, CMAT, MAHCET. Candidates need to visit the official websites of the above mentioned entrance exams and register themselves. Savitri Phule Pune University offers an MBA programme along with several other MBA combinations at the PG level. Interested candidates are required to register on the official website and appear for the course-wise shortlisting process. 

Q:   Is MBA from UNIPUNE worth it?

A:

Savitribai Phule Pune University’s Department of Management Studies (PUMBA) offers MBA in a well palnned curriculum. An also the placement is decent. The highest and average package offered during UniPune MBA placements 2023 was  INR 18.97 LPA and INR 8.85 LPA, respectively. Further, a total of 167 offers were made and 104 companies visited the campus during SPPU MBA placements 2023. Moreover, a total of 161 students were placed out of 173 participating students during UniPune MBA placements 2023.
