College experience has changed me as a person. It has taught me to lead a self-disciplined life, says Rohit
I chose Science in Class 11 and 12 as my core stream which included Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology. I selected an amalgamation of these subjects in order to keep my scope broader for selecting any field in the future from the IT or Medical stream.
Currently, I am pursuing my Post Graduation Diploma course at Atharva School of Business. I am specialising in Marketing Management. I selected the Atharva School Of Business because it offers good opportunities for holistic growth and development. It guarantees good placements with high packages in top companies. It provides students with additional certification courses which adds value to the overall profile of a person.
I appeared for Maharashtra Common Entrance Test ( MHA CET). I scored a decent score in this examination on the basis of which I was being able to get admission to Atharva School Of Business in Mumbai. I didn't join any coaching classes for preparation of the MBA entrance examination as I managed to study for the same myself. I used to dedicate more than 8-9 hours a day to the preparation for this exam as it's quite tough to crack and has a very tough competition. I used to practice the questions of quantitative measures on daily basis. I started reading books and novels, English newspapers and started watching some liberating interviews and series online in order to enhance my English vocabulary which helped me a lot in cracking quite a lot of questions in the entrance exam.
I used to take the help of my mentors whenever I used to find any difficulty in any subject.
There were quite a few colleges I was trying out for in Mumbai and Pune but Atharva School of Business was fitting all my criteria. While opting for Atharva School of Business I was being told that my admission will be done on the basis of my MHA CET score which had a weightage of 50% and another 50% weightage was of PI (Personal Interview) and GD (Group Discussion).
It was the first time I was facing any personal interview and GD hence I had to prepare myself sincerely but practicing daily for the same boosted a lot of confidence in myself and I was being able to overcome all these challenges during my admission process.
I spend my time attending lectures, playing sports, coordinating and participating in several events in college.
I like to attend Marketing Management class as the faculty of this subject is very interactive and keeps the students engaged. Effective Communication class is also interesting as we get an opportunity to give presentations, and do debates in front of the entire class which helps me in increasing my confidence level and enhancing my speaking skills. I also like IT lectures as its my area of interest lies in there and i get to learn IT from the management perspective.
I am a part of multiple committees in college as I am a creative designer. I am also a part of the Marcom Team which is the official social media management team of college. I actively participate in sports, cultural activities, dance, etc. If given a chance, I would like to organise an event in college single handled.
College experience has changed me as a person on so many levels. It has taught me to lead a self-disciplined life. I have learned the importance of time management. I have become a more patient and hard-working person than i used to be. I constantly strive towards improving my creativity, soft skills and technical skills.
There is a pool of opportunities I see for myself in future here. I would be doing my summer internship in a reputed company firstly than I will be working on some projects and will make sure to work hard and get placed in a good company as a digital marketer.
My future plans are that I would like to enhance my existing skill sets and put my current skills into action. I would like to do a job for initial few years as a digital marketer in some good Multinational Company since i have an expertise in IT and will be specialising in Marketing soon and after gaining experience of good 5-6 years and getting exposure of how industries works practically and globally i will be starting a business of my own and will turn as an entrepreneur and will also invest in some CSR activities.
