Despite the virtual classrooms, the faculty members make sessions fun and interesting, says Shivani
After the Class 10 exams were over, I started researching the streams and the future career options available. I had a little inclination towards a management career and hence I opted for Commerce as my specialisation in Class 11. The stream has a perfect mix of Accounts and a base for management studies that introduces a wide array of job opportunities to students. Soon after completing Class 12 exams, my search for a good college offering BCom programme began. I pursued my B com degree in Accounts and Finance. Pursuing MBA after completion of BCom was a final decision to gain a deeper knowledge of management studies and a degree in the area of Human Resources but only after some work experience. I wanted to comprehend corporate life and gain some working experience and hence, I joined Kotak Securities for a short span. After gaining some experience, I started preparing for MBA entrance exams.
Reason for choosing GNVS
It is rightly said there is No Gain without Pain. To get admission to one of the best institutes, one has to study hard and so I started preparing for the CET entrance exam. To prepare for the exam, I took assistance from my friends who helped me with the exam pattern and also shared a few tricks. With the help of the internet and other material resources available, the preparation started. I attempted various mock test papers through the Apps available on the play store. I cracked the exam with a fair score but it is always a tough game to secure admission to the best college as thousands of students appear for the exam.
While researching the right colleges, I came across GNVS Institute of Management website and it was the college that met my requirements and also I was eligible for admission here. Upon checking the details, the institute offered a great infrastructure, highly experienced faculty, extracurricular activities, various courses and other facilities. The positive feedback of alumni, promising placements statistics, etc. were a few factors that made me sure about the institute.

Even during the global pandemic, the institute conducted a smooth and hassle-free admission process. The administrative staff is really co-operative and always available to help. They were very warm and welcoming to all students.
College life and learning experience at GNVS
Due to the pandemic situation, the lectures are being conducted online. It is a new experience but the institute has taken great efforts and made it a smooth teaching and learning process. Despite the virtual classrooms, the faculty members make sessions fun and interesting, hence making it easier for us to learn. The use of PowerPoint presentations, videos, group sessions, etc. makes sessions interactive.
The classes that I like to attend are Business Communication, Perspective Management and Negotiation Selling. It is filled with many stories, practical experiences and also small activities. The college has various students driven committees that carry out various activities. We have organised various masterclass webinar series for the batch and it has enhanced my team skills, communication skills, and also made me experience new things. Along with this, marketing manifesto and quiz competitions were conducted online which was a great way to interact with industry leaders and enhance our knowledge.

The institute gave me an opportunity to host the first online webinar for our batch which was very motivating and a great learning experience. It has surely boosted my confidence to another level.
Future plans
GNVS is a great contributor to my growth and personality development. I aspire to be an HR Manager and want to make various developments that will benefit the employees and also arrange various activities that will help to maintain a balanced life at work as employees are the greatest assets of the company.
