The institute has a state-of-an-art infrastructure with brilliant collections of books, says Snigdha
I have always been interested in Science and Commerce. I chose to go ahead with science but during the pandemic, I developed an immense interest in Banking and Stock Market.
I have no industry experience and hence do not have exposure to functional areas like Finance, Marketing and HR. However, while participating and organising departmental festivals and events during my graduation degree, I earned the reputation of someone with good ‘money management’ skills, an input that conforms to my ability to manage my pocket money well. I want to formally enhance this skill and transform myself from a small-scale money manager to an industry-ready ‘finance manager’.
I believe the time is money and nobody sets out to waste it. At the core of a business, lies its finances and how it allocates this resource to expand further. It is obviously a very delicate balance and requires constant maintenance. Ever since I started preparing for various online exams in the field of Banking, I have been intrigued by the idea of using money to make more money. Only the addition of time and careful investing makes that reaction thermodynamically feasible. I believe that e-MBA in Finance will give me the investing and management skills I need to ensure that finances are carefully kept in balance to allow my firm to thrive.
Lastly, I believe that behind every successful business there is a very savvy finance plan, and I want to be one of the many members in the team that develops those.
My reason for choosing MET Asian Management Development Centre is that it is one of the elite colleges in Mumbai offering eMBA course that is focusing on nurturing future business practitioners and training the candidates to their utmost potential to be successful in their corporate life, shaping them to be leaders in their industry.
I have immense interest in the Banking sector, so I was giving bank entrance exams for the Officer’s post.
I attempted SBI PO, IBPS PO, LIC AAO, LIC ADO, Karnataka Bank PO, South Indian Bank PO, IBPS RRB Officers Grade I and RBI Grades A and B Exam. I could clear the preliminary examination for most of the mentioned exams but always fell short of a couple of marks in clearing the main examination.
Since I was transitioning from a Pure Science background to a ‘Commerce’ field, I felt better to join the coaching class to better understand the concepts. So, yes. I did join a coaching class for a year.
In the early months of 2021, I decided to pursue MBA course and was surfing through the internet for course details and colleges. I also checked for MHT-CET exam details but realised that I missed the last date for filling the application form. That is when I saw an advertisement of MET Institution and enquired to learn more about what they were offering. They guided me throughout the onboarding process and luckily, they had an option to appear for an entrance exam conducted by the institution itself. It was a huge relief for me! The entrance exam was MHT-CET level and had 30 questions to be completed in an hour, this is what I remember. I found it to be easy and I qualified for the entrance exam. Post that, there was an online interview that went well.
I was finally selected to pursue the empowered MBA course in this prestigious institution!
Classes are mostly online however on few occasions I have had an opportunity to attend lectures offline and it was an amazing experience. The institute has a state-of-an-art infrastructure with brilliant collections of books in the library and beautiful spaces for recreational activities.
I am an avid learner. I am constantly excited to learn new things and actively participate in class discussions, debates, and activities. I love attending all the lectures and understanding hands-on concepts about management in various areas of an organisation or a business.
I had also participated in MET Utsav 2021, which is a grand annual event, that gives us a chance to showcase our talents and compete for the top spot. My photographs of nature and architecture were also displayed.
I am someone who believes in the lead by example, so, I try my best to do so and help my team and class in any possible way that I can.
Being in MET, I feel, has given me an opportunity to apply my skills and enhance them – be it people management skills, team management skills, task management skills or schedule.
I see my future as someone who will be known for being an empathetic leader.
I am looking forward to attending more lectures offline and having a great time ahead along with learning and other important experiences
In the future, I hope to continue being the way that I am and be known for being an empathetic leader. I see myself as a finance manager or an investment banker in the near future who takes care of her employees along with getting the work done on time, in a systematic and organized manner.
