Pune University Alumni Based on Courses

1. BTech in Computer Engineering

The Bachelor of Technology in Computer Engineering has a great history of placing students with a great salary package over the years. The alumni who got placed in the companies had got a median salary package of INR 3 Lakhs per annum in the year 2021. This median salary package has increased to INR 8 Lakhs per annum in the year 2023. The quality and number of placements are also good. The top recruiting companies where alumni got placed are Amazon, Infosys, Maruti Suzuki, TATA Consultancy Services, Vodafone, etc. The annual salary package of the alumni has increased with the increase in their experience.

2. Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)

On its campus, Savitribai Phule Pune University does not provide a BCA program in the area of Computers and Technology. Nonetheless, it does provide students at the SPPU campus with a BCA program as well as a Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS) course at its affiliated colleges.

About 50-60% of students got placed and about 40% of the total students were able to get an internship in the year 2021. The average package of this course in 2021 was INR 2 Lakhs per annum. This average package increased to INR 4 Lakhs per Annum in the year 2022. The top roles were Java Developer, PHP Developer, full-stack developer, etc. The top recruiting companies are TATA Consultancy Services, Infosys, Siemens, Ford, LG, etc.

3. Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The percentage of placement is great. The median salary package in the year 2022 was INR 7.1 Lakhs per annum and the highest salary package was INR 17 Lakhs per annum, which is a great package for a fresher. The top recruiting companies are Accenture, Amazon, Barclays Capital, Bosch, Deloitte, Dabur, Flipkart, KPMG, etc. The top roles provided to the students are management trainee, tax analyst, HR trainee, sales trainee, sales forecasting, branding, etc.

4. Bachelor of Commerce (BCom)

For BCom graduates, the college offers good employment; respectable and well-known organisations do visit for placement. The placement percentage is about 40%. The average placement package in the year 2021 was INR 3.5 Lakhs per annum, which increased to INR 5 Lakhs per annum in the year 2022. The highest package in the year 2022 was INR 21 Lakhs per annum and the lowest package was INR 2 Lakhs per annum. The top recruiting companies are DeShaw, Deloitte, Credit Suisse, E&Y, etc. The top roles offered to the students are accountant, analyst, auditor, etc.

5. Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science

The placement percentage of this course is almost 60-70%. The highest placement package offered to the student is INR 12 Lakhs per annum, the lowest placement package offered was INR 3 Lakhs per annum and the median salary package offered was INR 5 Lakhs per annum. The top recruiting companies are Accenture, Atos, Calvin Klein, Cognizant, eClerx, ICICI Prudential, IBN Lokmat, etc. The top roles offered are software engineer trainee, software associate, operation executive, PHP Developer, Java Developer, etc.

  • Pratibha Patil

Pratibha Devisingh Patil, an Indian politician and lawyer, was elected as India's 12th president in 2007 and held office until 2012. She is India's first female president. She was previously the governor of Rajasthan from 2004 to 2007 and a member of the Lok Sabha from 1991 to 1996. She is a member of the Indian National Congress. Mooljee Jetha College in Jalgaon granted her a master's degree in political science and economics (then under Pune University).

  • Radhika Apte

Radhika Apte is an Indian actress. She primarily works in Hindi-language films, but she has also made a few cameos in Tamil, Marathi, Telugu, Bengali, and English-language movies. She began performing in theatre before landing a small part in the Hindi fantasy film Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi! to make her film debut (2005). She graduated with degrees in mathematics and economics from Fergusson College, University of Pune.

  • Kay Kay Menon

Indian actor Krishna Kumar Menon, better known by his stage name Kay Kay Menon, primarily performs in Hindi-language films, but he also appears in films in Gujarati, Tamil, Marathi, and Telugu. At the University of Pune's Department of Management Sciences, he pursued an MBA.

  • Sharad Govind Rao Pawar

Sharad Govindrao Pawar is an Indian politician. He has served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for four ministries. He formerly held the positions of Minister of Agriculture in the Manmohan Singh Government and Minister of Defense in the P.V. Narasimha Rao Cabinet in the Union Council of Ministers. He created the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in 1999 after severing ties with the Indian National Congress and currently serves as its president. In the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian parliament, he serves as the leader of the NCP delegation. He attended BMCC in Pune, the Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce.

  • Gaur Gopal Das

Indian monk Gaur Gopal Das is also a life coach and motivational speaker. The International Society for Krishna Consciousness counts him as a member (ISKCON). At UniPune, he studied electrical engineering.

As per a document released by Savitribai Phule Pune University, PUMBA does provide a refund in case of withdrawal of admission. However, the refund is subject to fee refund guidelines released by UGC. Listed below are the guidelines to be followed as per the fee refund policy of the university:
