Quality of Education & Ample Placement Opportunities Made me Choose MIT WPU, says Siddhesh Patil

MBA is considered to be a master’s course which asks one to not only understand and function at a higher level but also to be mentally and physically fit. When choosing a college for my master's, I needed to find a university that ensures educational excellence while also taking into consideration my mental and physical health and offering me numerous possibilities and challenges. With its holistic approach to education and life, MIT-WPU was exactly what I had been looking for and soon I made MIT-WPU my home.

I received my confirmation on August 17, 2021, and the virtual classes began shortly thereafter due to Covid-19 restrictions. I feared that, like all prior digital classes I've taken, this one would also be difficult to comprehend. Since I have ADHD, it is difficult for me to pay attention, but the classes went smoothly and I couldn't tell when they began or ended. It was easy teaching and practical teaching, which made the classes a bit fun to learn, and the helpful faculty members always helped post lectures to comprehend concepts that were not grasped. Here is where I created a group of peers of which one could only dream: all friendly, supportive, competitive, and kind.

In November of 2021, I eventually made my way to the campus. Just before the end of the pandemic and the introduction of hybrid studies, few of us attended college, while others who lived far away stayed at home for health reasons. It is here where there were fewer students and it was easier to connect with them. At the same time, I submitted my application for the Marketing Forum of SOB, one of the oldest forums in SOB's distinguished history. And just a few weeks later, I received an email confirming my membership in the forum. It was an exhilarating moment.

In February 2022, all Covid-19 restrictions were lifted, and we switched from hybrid mode to classroom mode. All students were on campus, and it was a lot of fun to explore the entire MIT-WPU campus, including the majestic Dyaneshwara Hall, the Academic Library, and all the major buildings, as well as the hills and winding roads at the back of the campus. But there was something about the Academic Library, a peaceful place to study and contemplate, that made it my preferred location on campus.

As the second year began, we were all returning from our SIP (Summer Internship Programmes), where we had learned and experienced corporate life first-hand, as well as abandoned our personal projects pertaining to it. A few weeks later, I received an email congratulating me on my new position at the forum as Head of Design and Creatives and Co-Head of Social Media and Promotions. Elections for the Marketing Forum were soon announced, and I participated and was interviewed for the role of Design and Creative Head. This was all a Marketing student could ask for an opportunity to apply his knowledge to roles in his domain. I was elected SPR (Student Placement Representative) for my class and then promoted to Head of the Technical Team in the Placement Committee for the 21-23 cohort shortly before the placement season began. Being a member of the Placement Committee greatly facilitated my ability to interact with individuals on and off campus.

Managing all the academic, non-academic, and placement work was quite a challenge for me, but with the help of my friends and teachers, I was able to pull it off. In January of 2023, I was placed at my dream job as a Social Media Executive at MIT-WPU, and I felt a sense of pride for being placed in the very institute where I studied. All the opportunities and challenges that college presented me with shaped who I am today and who I will be for the next few years. It was the welcoming nature of students. The academic and non-academic staff made me admire MIT-WPU, a college that every student should attend given the opportunity.
