UCEED 2025 eligibility criteria
The candidate needs to meet the following eligibility criteria for appearing in UCEED 2025.
- Age limit - The candidate must be born on or after October 1, 2000. Relaxation in the upper age limit of 5 years applies to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories.
- Number of attempts - A candidate is allowed to take the UCEED exam a maximum of two times and that too in consecutive years.
- Qualifying exam - The candidate must have passed all the subjects in the qualifying exam (10+2 or equivalent) in 2023 or should be appearing in the qualifying exam for the first time in 2025. Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying for the first time in 2023 or earlier are not eligible.

Note that the eligibility criteria for appearing in UCEED 2025 are not the same as the eligibility criteria for admission to the B.Des program.
Q: Can I join IIT Hyderabad without JEE?
It's not possible to get admission to the BTech programme without JEE. The primary method for securing admission to IIT Hyderabad's BTech programme is by taking the Joint Entrance Examination, which is a national-level entrance exam for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology. JEE is a mandatory requirement for most undergraduate engineering programmes at IITs, including IIT Hyderabad. Nevertheless, it is crucial to recognise that admission processes and criteria may evolve over time. - UCEED 2025 qualification - The candidate must have qualified in the UCEED 2025 entrance exam and must have been allocated a merit rank.
- Qualifying examination - The candidate must have passed all the subjects in the qualifying exam (10+2 or equivalent) in 2024 or should be appearing in the qualifying exam for the first time in 2025. - Candidates from the Science Stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are eligible to apply to ALL the five participating institutes.
- Candidates from any other stream (Science without Mathematics or Physics or Chemistry, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible to apply to IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and IIT Hyderabad.
- For admission to BDes at IIITDM Jabalpur, only students with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology at 10+2 are eligible.
- Students from Arts or Humanities at 10+2 are not eligible to apply for BDes admissions at IIITDM Jabalpur.
