Sagar Institute of Research & Technology Organises Entrepreneur Awareness Drive (EAD-2019)
June 11, 2020: In collaboration with the E-Cell at IIT Kharagpur, the Entrepreneurship Development Cell at Sagar Institute of Research and Technology organised an Entrepreneur Awareness Drive (EAD 2019). The event aimed at educating students about how they can bring their dream of becoming an entrepreneur to life, how proposals are made and funding is raised from angel investors and other corporates. The event witnessed active participation of over 600 students from SGI and othet institutes.
The key takeaways were:
- Students were educated about the different skill areas where they can establish themselves as entrepreneurs and create jobs for others.
- Encouraged students to talk about innovative usages of products in groups
- How could a simple idea become a potentially larger company?
- The Charm of Becoming an Entrepreneur, Creativity and Problem Solving was discussed
- Discussions on small problems of society that resulted into a successful business model
- How patents can be filed to safeguard the business ideas
Institute invited prominent business leaders and academicians from various races of life to facilitate this drive. The speaker panel included Co-Founder & CEO-Techizer, Praveen Wadalkar; Advisor, E-cell hindu college, Shirshendu Bharadwaj; Co-Founder & director The optimist citizen, Tannison Mathews; Bamboo Evangelist CEO – Anil Bamboo Machine, Rohit Agrawal; and E-START by Amruta Shingwekar, Incubation Program Manager, VASPL Incubation Centre
