University of North Bengal (NBU) offers distance education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The Directorate of Distance Education (DDE), a separate wing of NBU, is accredited by Distance Education Bureau, University Grants Commission (New Delhi). It allows students of all age groups to pursue the desired course from any location. With affiliation from NBU, the Directorate of Distance Education offers MA and MSc programmes under the PG courses and UG programmes like BA and BCom.

The mode of application for distance learning courses is online. Visit the official website and submit a duly-filled application form. The selection of candidates for all the programmes offered through distance learning is done basis the academic merit. DDE conducts classes from time to time at various study centres. Additionally, the university provides self-learning material for all the courses.

NBU DDE Admission 2021: PG Courses

University of North Bengal- DDE offers a range of postgraduate courses in various disciplines of Arts. It also offers an MSc programme in Mathematics. The duration of these courses if three years each. 

NBU DDE Admission 2021: MA

Directorate of Distance Education (DDE)- University of North Bengal offers a correspondence Master of Arts (MA) programme, which is of two-year duration (minimum). It offers MA in six specialisations, including the disciplines of Arts and Language. Candidates seeking admission to various specialisations of should have met the following eligibility criteria:

  • BA or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline of study from a recognised university

  • The selection of candidates is done on merit-basis

NBU DDE Admission 2021: MSc

DDE- University of North Bengal offers a Master of Science (MSc) programme through distance learning mode. DDE offers this correspondence course in one specialisation, i.e. Mathematics. The minimum duration of the course is two years. The first-year fee of the course is Rs 22,180. To be eligible for this course, candidates should meet the following eligibility: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject of study from a recognised college, institute, or university

  • The selection of candidates is merit-based

NBU DDE Admission 2021: UG Courses

University of North Bengal offers two undergraduate programmes through distance learning mode, namely Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Commerce (BCom). The duration of these courses offered at NBU- DDE is three years each. NBU DDE Application Process

Candidates seeking admission to various distance learning courses at University of North Bengal should have met the basic eligibility set by the university. Further, they must submit an application form for the desired course. The Directorate of Distance Education accepts applications through both online and offline modes. Mentioned below are the steps to fill the application form for various courses offered at NBU- DDE:

  • Visit the official website of NBU- DDE

  • Enter all the relevant details

  • Pay the application fee using the preferred payment mode

  • Submit the application form

  • Take a printout of the duly filled form and sent it to the NBU-DDE office or your study centre along with the fee receipt and required documents
