In a conversation with Shiksha.com, experts at Parul University talk in detail about their flagship BTech programme. Along with the admission, eligibility, fee, curriculum and hostel-related information, they also shared detailed information on scholarships and placement opportunities for students. Considering the fact that there are other BTech colleges and universities across the country, they talk about reasons why a student should consider joining Parul University.

Q: What is the process to get admission to BTech programme at Parul University?

A: The admission to BTech programme at Parul University is direct. The applicants only need to fulfil the eligibility criteria and appear for JEE exam or any other state-level entrance exam.

To be eligible for admissions, the applicant must have cleared HSCE exam (Class 10 and Class 12) in Science with a minimum aggregate of 45 per cent (40 per cent for SC/ST/SEBC) in theory with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.

Aspirant pursuing diploma need a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent to be eligible for admission.

Q: What are the different specialisation options available to students?

A: Parul University offers BTech programme in the following fields:

Q: What is the cost of programme? Do you also offer hostel facility?

A: The cost of the four-year BTech programme is Rs 1 lakh annually. We do provide accommodation facility to students on campus. The fee for the same varies between Rs 66,000 and Rs 1.08 lakh per annum depending on the type of occupancy student prefers. We ensure all basic facilities to students. It is a home away from home.

Q: Are there any scholarships for students?

A: We, at Parul University, do not want the financial problem to be a hindrance for students education. The University does provide scholarship opportunities to students for the first year on the basis of their merit scores.

For instance, students who have scored more than 60 per cent in Class 12 are eligible for scholarship up to 40 per cent. Not just merit scores, but students can also secure admission and avail scholarship under cultural & sports quota and Defense quota.

Q: Can you share some insights on placements?

A: We have tie-ups with over 1,500 companies that visit the campus for placements. The same companies also offer internship opportunities to students. Basis of the performance, the students are entitled to stipend and pre-placement offers.

These companies include IBM, Tata Consultancy Services, Shapoorji Pallonji, Linde Engineering, Shell, Atul Engineering, E-Infochips, L&T Infotech, CEAT, ABB, Reliance, Amazon and Mahindra .

We have witnessed the highest package of Rs 18 LPA and an average package of Rs 2.88 LPA in last placements season.

Q: Do you also offer international immersion programmes to students?

A: We have international tie-ups with over 50 universities across the globe. These universities offer an exchange programme to our students.

Q: What extra benefits does Parul University offer to students?

A: Our course timings are 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. After the classes end, the students can indulge themselves into various physical activities such as we have a sports complex on campus that offers various outdoors and indoors games to students. We also have a swimming pool on campus for hostel students.
