Q:   How is the final merit list prepared for NATA admissions?

A:

The final merit list for NATA admissions is typically prepared by considering a candidate's NATA score along with their qualifying examination marks (such as those from the 10+2 or equivalent exams). Here's how it is usually structured:

NATA Score: The NATA score is the primary criterion, as it assesses the candidate's aptitude for architecture. Many colleges prioritize this score heavily in the admissions process.

Qualifying Examination Marks: The marks obtained in the 10+2 exam (or equivalent) are also considered, often with a focus on Mathematics and overall aggregate. Candidates generally need a minimum of 50% in these exams to qualify for admission.

Weightage and Cut-off: The specific weightage for NATA scores and qualifying marks can vary by college. Some institutions may use a 50:50 weightage, while others may prioritize the NATA score more significantly. Each college also sets its own cut-off score for admission.

Counseling and Additional Rounds: Many institutions hold counseling sessions or additional rounds (e.g., interviews or portfolio reviews) based on the combined merit score. This further refines the selection process to ensure the best match for architecture programs.

Candidates should check the specific criteria of each institution, as they may differ in the weightage and additional selection requirements for preparing the final merit list.
