JoSAA 2025 Counselling Dates (REVISED): Check New Dates for JoSAA Rounds 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6

JoSAA 2025 Dates: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority has released the JoSAA 2025 round 6 seat allotment result. The candidates who have been allotted a seat in round 6 have to complete online reporting (fee payment/document upload/response by candidate to query) by July 20. Round 6 is the last round for JoSAA 2026 counselling.
JoSAA 2025 counselling has six rounds. Each round consists of the following steps: seat allotment, seat confirmation by candidates, online reporting at the allotted institute, and payment of fees. After all the rounds, any vacant seats remaining will be allotted via the CSAB counselling 2025.

Registration for JoSAA 2025 has started on June 3, 2025. Admission to IITs will be determined by JEE Advanced 2025 ranks, while NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and other GFTIs will use JEE Main 2025 ranks for their allotments.
JoSAA counselling will start on June 3, a day after the JEE Advanced 2025 result is announced. The dates for JoSAA 2025 has been announced on the official website of JoSAA - josaa.nic.in. The counselling will include atleast 6 rounds of seat allotment.

JoSAA Counselling 2025 Seat Allotment Dates
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) releases the JoSAA seat allotment result for each round. To check the seat allotment result candidates have to login into the JoSAA portal using their JEE Main application number and password.
Seats are allotted to the candidates based on their JEE Main/JEE Advanced ranks only and also their category. After allotmnet of the seats, candidates must download the "Initial Seat Allotment Intimation Slip" which has the information about the allotted seat. Candidates have to login to the JoSAA portal to check if a seat has been allocated during a specific round of seat allocation. No separate intimation of seat allocation will be provided to the candidate.

No. You are only allowed to fill choices once before entering the first round of counselling and that choice list is final. Candidates are given only one chance to enter their choice, edit the choices, rearrange them before the choice filling deadline. All candidates have to save and lock their choices within the prescribed deadline. No more chances to fill.edit/rearrange the choices will be provided in the subsequent rounds of JoSAA counselling.
JoSAA 2025 Seat Acceptance Date
After allotment of seats in JoSAA counselling, candidates are provided with a window to confirm their seat. In this window, candidates have to decide if they want to ‘Freeze’, ‘Slide’, or ‘Float’. The candidate needs to accept the seat allocated in JoSAA counselling and then opt for any one of the options ‘Freeze’, ‘Slide’ or ‘Float’.

JoSAA 2025 Choice Filling Dates
The JoSAA 2025 choice filling and registration window opens together. As soon as the candidates register for JoSAA, they can proceed to fill choices. Candidates have the flexibility to modify the order of their preferences in the list. Once satisfied with their choices and their respective order, they can save the list. Before the last date of choice filling, candidates can modify their choices 'n' number of times. However, before the deadline, it is compulsory to lock the choices, or else the last preference order will be automatically locked by the system and candidates will not be allowed to make any changes to the list.

JoSAA registration starts a day after the JEE Advanced result is declared. The candidates who qualify JEE Advanced 2025 can apply for JoSAA 2025 for IIT admission. On the other hand, the candidates who will have JEE Main 2025 rank can also fill JoSAA application form 2025 for admission to NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and other GFTIs. Candidates who wish to be admitted to the IITs and the NIT+ systems must register for JoSAA 2025 counselling. Candidates need to authenticate themselves using JEE Main 2025 application number, candidate name, mother’s name and date of birth and then verify the OTP sent on the JEE Main 2025 registered mobile number and email ID.

Once the seats are allotted candidates have to upload the rewuired documents on the JoSAA portal for verification. If a query is raised by the verification officer regarding the documents then, they will have to respond to the queries with valid document and explanation within the deadline. If the query is not resolved the candidate will be eliminated from the JoSAA counselling.

You can update your nationality in the JoSAA portal from foreign national to Indian. Once the nationality status is changed, you will be eligible for seats in IITs under the GEN category only. If you have already been allocated a seat, it will be cancelled, and you will be considered for seat allocation in subsequent rounds (if any) under the OPEN category, provided you -
- submit proof of Indian nationality, and
- meet all other eligibility criteria for Indian nationals, including satisfying the JEE (Main) cut-off marks for qualifying for JEE (Advanced) in the GEN category.
If you do not have a valid UDID card indicating permanent disability and are seeking a seat in IITs through JoSAA, you must visit any of the IITs for physical verification, bringing a copy of your PwD certificate (s). If you have a valid UDID card indicating permanent disability, physical verification is not required. However, if the online UDID card verification fails or you are allotted a seat in an academic programme with special restrictions listed on the JoSAA portal, you will need to undergo physical verification, even if you possess a UDID card for a different permanent disability.

No, your candidature will be rejected as you need to have minimum of 75% in class 12 to be eligible for admisison to the IITs, NIT, IIITs and GFTIs via the JoSAA counselling. Even if you pass JEE Advanced and JEE Main, of you do not have 75% minimum marks in class 12 boards you will no get admission

The JEE Advanced JoSAA counselling dates will be made available on the official website of JoSAA - josaa.nic.in. Usually, the JoSAA counselling registration starts a day after the JEE Advanced result is anniunced. Complete schedule will be available on the official website.

No, one does not have to apply separately at IIT Madras website after JoSAA counselling. This is because the institute follows a common admission process for its BTech course just like the other IITs.
