MAH BBA/BCA/BBM/BBS CET score normalisation assesses the candidate’s performance across different exam sessions on a standardized scale. Read the article below to know how will the MAH BBA/BCA/BBM/BBS CET 2025 score be normalised.
MAH BBA CET score normalization process: The Maharashtra State CET Cell will conduct the MAH CET 2025 exam for undergraduate courses. The exam was conducted in multiple shifts on April 29, April 30 and May 2, 2025. The candidates who appeared for the exam were given a raw score, but the MAH BBA CET result 2025 is not solely prepared based on raw scores, i.e. a total of correct and incorrect answers marked by the candidate. Therefore, the candidates are assessed across different sessions on a standardized scale. The registration window for MAH BBA CET counselling opened on August 8, 2025.

Candidates will be given different sets of questions in each shift. Despite efforts to maintain consistency across various question papers, the difficulty levels can still vary. To address this, a Normalization Method has been included in the seleciton process by the exam conducting authorities to ensure that candidates are neither advantaged nor disadvantaged by the differing levels of difficulty in the examination.
Candidates must carry the MAH BBA CET admit card to the exam centre. Candidates must also carry a government-issued photo ID proof for the verification process at the MAH CET test centre. Candidates must not carry any other item to the exam centre. Every candidate can also carry a simple blue or black ball point pen to the exam centre. They must not carry any other stationery to the exam centre. They must also not bring a bag as there will be no provision to keep the bags. They should also avoid carrying electronic devices such as watches, smartphones, calculators, etc.
The MAH BBA CET exam 2026 will be conducted from April 28, 2026, to April 30, 2026. The exam will be conducted in the computer-based test mode across various test centers in the country. The MAH BBA CET exam will be conducted in multiple slots on different days. Candidates have to carry the MAH BBA CET admit card to the allotted exam center in order to gain entry to the exam hall.

What is the MAH BBA CET Normalization Method?
MAH BBA CET normalization method is an established practice adopted by the exam conducting authority, State CET Cell to compare the scores of the candidates in multiple shift papers. The raw scores of the candidates in all three shifts are normalized on a standardized scale. The MAH BBA CET normalization process is similar to those which are adopted by other large educational selection tests across India.
What is MAH BBA CET Percentile Scores?
Percentile scores are calculated based on the relative performance of all candidates appearing for the exam. Essentially, the raw marks obtained by the candidates are transformed into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees.
A Percentile Score reflects the percentage of candidates who have scored equal to or below a particular percentile. Consequently, the highest scorer in each session will achieve a Percentile Score of 100, which is the desired outcome. Scores between the highest and lowest are also converted into corresponding percentiles.
MAH BBA CET 2026 will be conducted for admission to various UG programmes on April 28, 2026, April 29, 2026, and April 30, 2026. The exam will be conducted in the computer-based test mode. This year too, the exam is expected to be conducted in multiple shifts. Candidates will be allotted the shift time, which will be mentioned on their MAH BBA CET admit card.
MAH BBA CET score is valid for admission for one year only. Those who have appeared for MAH BBA CET 2024 (first and additional sessions), can seek admission to participating colleges this year only (2024-26 batch) Candidates who will appear in MAH BBA CET 2025, their scores will be valid for admission to 2025-2029 batch of BBA/BMS/BBCA/BBS programmes. Those who wish to take a break of one year will have to appear for the exam again.
It is good to take a break and appear for the MAH BMS BBA CET exam next year again instead of taking admission in a college that is not of your choice. If you’ve scored below expectation in the current attempt, skip the year, prepare for the exam again, score better the next year and pursue the UG degree from a college that meets all your parameters.
On the MAH BBA CET exam day, candidates have to follow certain guidelines which include settling on time, cooperating with the exam conducting staff, following instructions of the test invigilator and following the test navigation for solving the MAH BBA CET questions. There are some key dos that candidates should follow on the MAH BBA CET exam day, which have been listed below:
MAH BBA CET exam day dos:
- Reach the MAH BBA CET exam centre on the allotted time.
- Keep a photocopy of the MAH BBA CET admit card along with a government issued identity proof.
- PwD candidates should keep the relevant certificates and documents as prescribed by the examination authorities.
- Keep a blue/black ball point pen for calculations
- Keep a drinking water bottle with you as you will not be allowed to leave the seat during the exam
- Cooperate with the test centre staff and follow instructions carefully
- Candidates must write their name and roll numbers on the rough sheet they use.
- Candidates must affix a coloured passport size photograph on their MAH BBA CET hall ticket
To minimise ties, Percentile Scores are calculated up to seven decimal places. The MAH CET BBA/BCA/BBM percentile score is the normalized score. The Percentile score of a candidate is calculated as follows:
100 X (No. of candidates who appeared in the session with raw score < the candidate’s score)
Total No. of Candidates in the Session
Note: The percentile scores are not the percentages
MAH BBA CET Percentile Calculation
Here’s an example of MAH CET percentile calculation explaining the process:
| MAH BBA CET Session |

Here, the highest raw score in each session will be 100 percentile (irrespective of raw scores) indicating that 100% of the candidates have secured equal to or lesser than the highest scorer for that session.

MAH BBA CET Score Normalization Process and Preparation of Percentile
The following steps will be undertaken for the MAH BBA CET score normalization and percentile preparation:
Step 1: Distribution of examinees
The candidates will be distributed into three sessions of the MAH BBA CET exam in a way that each session has approximately equal number of examinees. The sessions will be as follows:
Session 1: Day 1 Batch 1 (D1B1)
Session 2: Day 1 Batch 2 (D1B2)
Session 3: Day 1 Batch 3 (D1B3)
This is done to ensure an unbiased distribution of candidates appearing for the exam.
Step 2: Preparation of Session-wise MAH BBA CET Results
The MAH BBA CET results for each session will be prepared in the form of raw scores using the following formulae:
Total Percentile (TP) =
100 X No. of Candidates from the Session with Raw Score Equal to or Less Than TP score
Total Number of Candidates Appeared in the Session
Step 3: Compilation of Total CET Score
The Percentile scores for the Total Raw Score from all three sessions (Session-1: D1B1, Session-2: D1B2, and Session-3: D1B3, as calculated in Step 2) will be combined and referred to as the MAH BBA CET Percentile scores. These scores will then be used to compile the final MAH BBA CET results 2025. The Percentile scores for each session will be calculated separately based on the Total Raw Score, and then these Percentile scores will be merged to prepare the final CET scores.

To ensure that all the candidates who appeared for the MAH CET exam for the undergraduate courses are judged fairly, MAH BBA CET normalization process is undertaken. The MAH BBA CET exam 2024 was conducted for the first time in three shifts. It may be possible that one session could have been slightly easier or difficult than the other.
Hence, MAH BBA CET score normalization ensures that no candidate has an advantage or disadvantage over another due to differences in difficulty level of their exam session. So, before the preparation of the MAH CET result and merit list, the Maharashtra State CET Cell normalizes the exam scores. Basically, the marks obtained by every candidate are scaled.
