NPAT exam comprises multiple choice questions. Candidates appearing for the NPAT exam will find questions from three sections, namely Logical Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning. All three sections have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), also known as objective type questions. Candidates will find four answer options for each question. Out of these answer options one option will be correct. Candidates marking the correct answer option will fetch (+)1 mark. However, no negative marking will prevail for an incorrect response.

Q:   What questions are asked across sections in NPAT exam?

The NPAT exam consists of three sections, each section with a different set of question types. Three sections of NMIMS-NPAT exam includes Verbal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning.

Q:   How many questions are there in NPAT exam?

A:

As per the NPAT exam pattern, a total of 120 questions are asked from three exam sections collectively. Each section of NMAT exam has identIcal question weightage. The sections for NPAT exam with the number of questions are as follows:

Candidates need to answer all the questions within 100 minutes. The 100 minute time-frame of NPAT exam is not divided into sectional time frames. Questions under the NPAT exam sections can be answered without any boundation of navigation.

Q:   Are there any sectional time limit in NPAT exam?

As per the NPAT exam pattern, the exam has three sections compiling 120 questions. The total duration to answer all these 120 MCQs is 100 minutes. It is up to the test-taker to decide how much time he/she should allocate to each section. Since there is no pre-defined sectional time limit, candidates can navigate across questions as well as sections.

Although there is no sectional time limit, candidates must not forget that the weightage of questions and marks in each section is similar. Therefore, all three sections hold equal importance. It is critical to allocate time to each section based on the candidate's individual comfort and preparation. Candidates must keep the total time duration of the exam in mind and the time they need to answer questions from the next section. NPAT Syllabus 2025

NPAT 2025 BBA exam comprises three important sections, namely- Quantitative and Numerical Ability, Reasoning and General Intelligence, and Proficiency in English Language. All the questions will be designed from the topics under these three sections. All questions will be designed based on the NPAT 2025 syllabus. Therefore, candidates must check the complete syllabus to know all the topics before preparing a strategy for the exam.

Q:   Is there GK included in the syllabus of BBA in NPAT?

A:

In the previous sessions of NMIMS NPAT exam, there was a section for General Knowledge. Candidates had toi answer questions from static GK as well as current affairs. However, SVKMs NMIMS do not have questions from GK section after 2020 exam session. The three core sections of NPAT exam are

  • Verbal Reasoning: This section includes questions to test English Proficiency of the candidate.
  • Logical Reasoning: This section includes questions to measure the ability or aptitude to reason logically.
  • Quantitative Reasoning: This section includes questions to gauge the basic mathematical skills of the candidate.

NPAT exam does not include questions from GK or current affairs.

Yes, however, most of the topics included in the NPAT syllabus comprises topics that candidates have studied until their Class 12 level education. Quantitative and Numerical Ability

To solve the questions in this section, it is important to memorise various mathematical formulas. Questions will be from Percentage, Profit and Loss, Discount, Compound Interest & Annuities, Ration and Proportions, Basic Algebraic Identities, Equations- Linear, Measures of Dispersion, Mean, Mode, Identities, Heights, and other important topics. As NPAT is a speed-based test, test takers must learn the shortcut formulas, over-elaborate, and time-consuming methods. This can turn out to be handy to derive answers in a short span of time.

Reasoning and General Intelligence

In this section, in order to solve questions that are based on critical thinking, test takers should try to analyse the roles and conditions and based on it, solve the questions. For questions related to problem-solving, try to analyse the information and assimilate them in a suitable form to answer those questions.

While solving questions from the verbal and logical reasoning section, test takers can derive conclusions from the logical premises or assess the validity of arguments based on statements of the facts. In the Data Sufficiency section, analyse whether the information provided is sufficient to answer the questions or whether additional information is required. In the numerical reasoning section, identify the class and sub-class relationship within a given group of items and illustrate it in diagrams for comprehension.

Test takers can answer questions from Data Interpretation by using the information provided in the graphs and charts. While in order to solve questions from the Spatial Reasoning, select a figure from the alternatives that match with the relationship specified by the given figural pair. As much as possible, try to analyze the common quality in figures to be able to match them or find the odd one out. Proficiency in English Language
