The Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, more commonly abbreviated as BHMCT, is an all-encompassing programme that prepares students for careers in the hospitality and food service industries by providing them with theoretical and hands-on training in a variety of hospitality-related fields. The curriculum is broken up into eight different semesters, and topics like food preparation, beverage service, understanding of housekeeping procedures, and catering sciences, are covered over those semesters.
The majority of the courses on the BHMCT curriculum, such as food production and food and beverage service, need practical knowledge, and as a result, training becomes an essential component of the teaching process.
A student is required to attend these classes in addition to an industrial training course that lasts for twenty weeks during the fifth semester. In many educational institutions, the instruction is complemented with vacation training that lasts for at least a month and a half.
