CBSE Class 12th Exam 2021: Final decision likely to be taken today by Education Ministry

The final decision on the conduct, postponement, or cancellation of CBSE class 12th board exam 2021 is likely to be taken today.

Amid growing speculation over the cancellation of the CBSE Class 12 board exam 2021 and rising coronavirus cases in India, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal will conduct a meeting on this matter on May 17, 2021 at 11 am.

According to media sources, the Ministry of Education is likely to decide the cancellation or postponement of CBSE 12th exams 2021 in the meeting after interacting with education secretaries of all states.

The minister will also discuss the impact of the COVID19 pandemic on the education sector and the New Education Policy (NEP) implementation.

Students demanding cancellation of Class 12th board exams

Many experts and reports have opined that there is a possibility of the exam being cancelled. Students have been demanding the cancellation of exams by starting an online campaign #SaveBoardStudents asking the Central government and Union Education ministry to either postpone the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 or evaluate their marks based on the assessment plan of CBSE class 10.

On May 14, a plea was filed in SC to cancel the 12^th board exams by an advocate suggesting that an alternative way of assessment should be derived.

The CBSE Class 12 board exams 2021 were scheduled between May 4 and June 14, 2021 but had to be postponed due to the rise in the Covid19 cases across the country.
