The Centre has ordered the postponement of all the ongoing examinations of CBSE, NIOS and other University exams due to the Coronavirus Outbreak in the country. It has also ordered the rescheduling of JEE Mains exam. Read to know more.
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has directed the rescheduling of all the ongoing CBSE, NIOS and University exams after March 31 amid the Coronavirus Outbreak. The Centre has also ordered the rescheduling of JEE Mains exam, adding that the new date for the engineering entrance exam will be announced on March 31 after reviewing the situation. "All the ongoing examinations may be rescheduled after March 31, 2020, including CBSE, NIOS as well as other University exams," read the official notification.
The Central Board of Secondary Education, in an official release, has announced that the CBSE 10th exams, as well as the CBSE 12th exams, scheduled between March 19 and March 31, have been postponed and will now be rescheduled after March 31. Re-examinations for the Northeast students will also be notified thereafter.
Through the official notification by the MHRD, it has also been notified that while "maintenance of academic calendar and exam schedule is important, equally important is safety and security of students who are appearing in various examinations as also of their teachers and parents".
The notification further stated, "all educational institutions and examination boards are requested to maintain regular communication with the students and teachers through electronic means and keep them fully informed so that there is no anxiety among the students, teachers, and parents". It also added that all the evaluation work for CBSE, NIOS and other University exams may be rescheduled after March 31, 2020.
