CBSE released a list of FAQs related to compartment exam, re-valuation, verification of marks and more. Students confused after the release of the CBSE Results 2020 read further. 

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released a set of frequently asked questions (FAQs) based on re-exam, compartment exams, CBSE 10th 12th results to clear the persisting confusion among students. The release of the CBSE 10th Results 2020 and CBSE 12th Results 2020 based on the exams that were already conducted before the lockdown left students confused. According to the result stats, there are thousands of students who are in the compartment category and want to know when the re-exam will be conducted. Meanwhile, there are students who are not satisfied with their CBSE Results 2020 and want to apply for re-evaluation and verification. CBSE announced the CBSE 10th Results 2020 on July 15, 2020, and CBSE 12th Results 2020 on July 13, 2020. The overall percentage of CBSE 10thand CBSE 12th results for the year 2020 stood at 91.46% and 88.78 % respectively.

CBSE Results 2020: FAQs on compartment exam, re-valuation, verification of marks

CBSE published an official notification with frequently asked questions (FAQs) related to re-evaluation, verification of marks, compartment exam, CBSE results 2020 and more.

Q: In the marksheet of Private candidates practical marks are not reflected. Why?

A: In 2020, in some of the subjects, there has been change in the maximum marks for theory examination as compared to 2019. In all such subjects, marks obtained in theory part has been proportionately increased and increased marks have been added in theory marks and result has been declared. Marks being shown in theory are out of 100.

Q: Will the marks given in the subjects as per assessment criteria change in case of change in marks after verification and re-evaluation processes?

A: Any increase of decrease of marks due to verification or re-evaluation will also have an effect on the marks awarded as per assessment criteria.

Q: What do the grades given against marks indicate?

A: The grades are relative grades. They will vary from subject to subject every year. They are based on the number of candidates passing the subject. Details of these grades are provided at the back of the Mark Sheet provided by CBSE.

Q: When will the compartment examination be held?

A: Compartment examination will be held as soon as the situation is conducive and in consultation with Govt. of India for holding the examination. Notification dated 14.7.2020 may be referred.

Q: When can the form for compartment examination be filled?

A: Details will be made available as soon as the date is declared.

Q: What is the procedure if any candidate is not satisfied with the marks?

A: The candidate can apply for the below processes as per Notifications dated 14.7.2020 for Class XII and 16.7.2020 for Class X: 1. Verification of marks 2. Obtain copy of the evaluated answer book; and 3. Re-evaluation

Q: Can the marks be got verified without applying and paying fee?

A: No. There is no such procedure.

Q: What does the term RT in the marksheet mean?

A: The term RT means REPEAT IN THEORY. This is the term used from 2020 instead of FAIL IN THEORY (FT).

Q: What does the term RP in the marksheet mean?

A: The term RP means REPEAT IN PRACTICAL. This is the term used from 2020 instead of FAIL IN PRACTICAL(FP).

The outbreak of the novel coronavirus not only disrupted the CBSE 10th Board Exams 2020 and CBSE 12th Board Exams 2020 but also delayed the CBSE 10th Results 2020 and CBSE 12th Results 2020. Initially postponed pending CBSE 10th, 12th exams got cancelled later on by the Board considering the steep increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in India. While announcing the cancellation of the CBSE 10th 12th Board Exams 2020, the Board also announced that CBSE 10th Results 2020 and CBSE 12th Results 2020 will be released on the basis of a formulated assessment scheme. The release of the CBSE Results 2020 based on the exams that were already conducted before the lockdown left students confused.
