Mystory@Sanjay Thapliyal: How I chose my course and career

Once I cleared my 10^th Boards, I realized that science was not my cup of tea and so I opted for commerce in class 12^th and continued with it till my post-graduation. One should always think before making a choice of course and deeply analyze the skills that they possess before pursing with any course programme. I have identified my capabilities and willingness to pursue with commerce and my parent also supported my decision. After 12^th I decided to pursue BBA from a management college of repute. After which MBA was the goal in order to build my career in the field of management. I will always regret the fact that I did not put in much efforts to crack ICWAI and opted for BBA instead.

My tips for career selection

After completing MBA, I started working for a startup company and according to me this was a right decision for my career. I did commit a ton of mistake but I also learnt a lot from my seniors. I believe that in this world no one is perfect and every single being tend to commit mistakes and so do I. Self-belief is the most important factor that has always worked for me in almost all situations.

A few tips that I follow for career selection is to first identify skills and capabilities. Do the market research and find out which job and role description is best suited for you. Now start with the preparations in order to achieve the set goal. Never get disheartened with failures in life as it does not mean that you are incapable of achieving goals. Simply move ahead with a promise to work harder.

I then pursued with BBA from Graphic era university, Dehradun and further completed MBA from Bharthiar University, Bangalore. My hobbies include playing and watching cricket and also fond of singing.
