UPESEAT 2025: Application Form (OUT) , Exam Date, Syllabus, Pattern, Result & More

UPESEAT full form is the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies Engineering Aptitude Test. It is a university-level entrance exam that is conducted by UPES to provide admissions for B.Tech. courses in several disciplines. The University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES) conducts the examination every year online for the admission of suitable candidates to its various BTech programs. It is a self-financed, UGC and AICTE approved University. Admission to UPES is done through UPESEAT, the JEE Main scorecard, and the board merit list. 80% of seats at the University are filled through UPESEAT, and the rest 20% are filled on the basis of the JEE Main scorecard and Class 12 results.

UPES was established in 2003 through the UPES Act, 2003, of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand. It emerged as an innovative institution offering industry-specialized undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked UPES 46th in the University category, 42nd in the Engineering category, 41st in the Management category, and 28th in the Law category in NIRF 2024 Ranking.

The exam authority activated the UPSEAT 2025 application form link on the official website for admission to the year 2025-26. Interested candidates can complete the UPESEAT 2025 application form at upes.ac.in. The application process for UPESEAT 2025 comprises registration, filling out a form, uploading documents, and payment of the fee. Applicants must note that the UPESEAT 2025 application form will be available only in online mode. The application fee for UPESEAT 2025 is INR 1750 for all candidates. Candidates can use any of the prescribed methods such as net banking, credit card, and debit card to pay the UPESEAT 2025 application fee. Candidates are advised to fill out all the details in the UPESEAT 2025 application form carefully, as authorities will not provide any correction facility after the conclusion of the registration process. 

UPESEAT 2025 application form – Important Points  

• The UPESEAT 2025 application form is available online only. 
• Candidates must register themselves as a new applicant to complete the registration process.
• Candidates must be very careful when entering details in the UPESEAT application form 2025, as there won’t be any correction facility after the submission. 
• The details entered by candidates must be correct, as any wrong or misleading information can cause rejection of the application form. 
• Candidates are advised to keep a printout of the filled-in application form and fee receipt for future reference. 
• Simply filling out the application form does not guarantee admission.

Candidates can check the UPESEAT eligibility criteria to fill up the application form on the official website and also while filling the application form. Applicant must have the necessary qualifications to fill out the application form 2025. To apply for UPESEAT 2025, applicants must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in Classes X and XII, with 50% in PCM (Physics/Chemistry and Mathematics) in Class XII. • Nationality: Indian, as well as foreign national candidates, can apply for the UPESEAT exam
• Age Limit: Candidates must have been born on or after October 1, 2000. 
• Qualification: Candidates must have passed 10+2 Intermediate or equivalent examination from any recognized board. Class 12 appearing candidates are also allowed to appear for the exam. 
• Marks in Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have obtained at least 50% marks in Class 10 & 12 and 50% marks aggregate in the PCM Subjects. 
• JEE Main: Candidates who have scored more than the prescribed cut-off marks need not appear for UPESEAT 2025 and can participate directly in the counselling. 
• Board: Candidates with scores equal to or above 80% in both Class 10 & 12 levels can either appear for UPESEAT 2025 or can participate directly in the counselling. 
• SAT & CUET: Admissions will also be provided through SAT & CUET scores. SAT cut-off will be 50%.

• Exam Mode: UPESEAT 2025 exam will be conducted online. If a center-based exam is conducted, it will be communicated to Candidates later. 
• Total Sections: There will be a total of four sections in the UPESEAT 2025 exam: Physics, Mathematics/Biology, Chemistry, and English Language. 
• Medium: The medium of the UPESEAT 2025 question paper will be English only. 
• Type of Questions: The question paper consists of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) only. 
• Total Questions: There will be a total of 125 questions (online).
• Duration: A total of two (2) hours for the online test. 

UPESEAT 2024 Exam Pattern 

Candidates can check the UPESEAT 2025 syllabus on the official website. Candidates must refer to the UPESEAT syllabus before starting UPESEAT 2025 preparations. The syllabus for UPESEAT 2025 comprises important topics and chapters asked in the exam. The syllabus for the examination will consist of various topics from the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology of the 11th and 12th NCERT syllabus, as well as English language Comprehension and Current Affairs Awareness sections. 

UPESEAT Preparation Tips 2025

• Go through the complete UPESEAT syllabus and exam pattern. 
• Make a balanced time schedule and follow it strictly. 
• Solve the UPESEAT previous years and sample papers, and take the mock tests a month before the exam. 
• Make short notes. Revise notes regularly, and with short notes, revise the entire syllabus a few days before the exam. 
• Allot some time (at least one hour) for outdoor physical activity to keep yourself fit. 

The exam authority will release the UPESEAT 2025 admit card on its official website. Applicants who will appear for the exam will be able to download the admit card for UPESEAT 2025 at upes.ac.in. The details required to download the UPESEAT hall ticket are the application number and date of birth. Applicants first need to complete the UPESEAT slot booking with their preferred exam date, slot, and centre. The admit card for UPESEAT mentions the candidate's personal details, exam date & time, exam day instructions, and other details. Only successfully registered candidates will be allowed to download their UPESEAT admit cards. Candidates must note that the authority will not send any admit cards for UPESEAT 2025 through the mail or by post. 

The exam authority will release the UPESEAT 2025 result on the official website. Applicants who will appear for the exam will be able to check their UPESEAT 2025 results a few days after the conclusion of the exam. The credentials required to check the UPESEAT 2025 result are the application number and password. Applicants must note that authorities will not share the UPESEAT result by post or fax.

The University provides the scholarship to the candidates in two different categories, i.e., the All India Category and the Uttarakhand Domicile Special Scholarship. The details of the scholarship are provided below. 

All India Category 

• A candidate should have obtained 60% marks in class 10 and 12 with 60% in PCM. 
• 50% tuition fee waiver on 10% seats in each programme in the first year for CBSE, ICSE & State board pass-out candidates.
• In the second semester, the application form will be renewed subjected to a candidate who should have scored an SGPA 8/10.
• Scholarships in the coming years will be as per the scholarship policy of the University. 

Uttarakhand Domicile Special Scholarships 

Eligibility 

• A candidate should have scored 60% marks in each of classes 10, 12, and PCM for BTech. 
• A candidate should have a Permanent Residence Certificate. 
• Candidates can avail only 1 scholarship at a time (either through Uttarakhand Board Merit or through Uttarakhand Domicile category).
• The seats reserved under this category will be within the 15% reservation for Uttarakhand Domicile Candidates. 

Scholarships 

• In the first year, 35% of tuition fee for female Candidates and 25% of tuition fee for male Candidates. 
• In the second semester, the application form will be renewed subjected to candidates who should have scored SGPA 8/10. 
• Scholarship in the coming years will be as per the scholarship policy of the University. 
• Class 10 and Class 12 Mark sheet and Certificates 
• Proof of Date of Birth (Class 10 Certificate) 
• Demand draft of the course fee drawn in the favour of "UPES" payable at Dehradun. 
• Enclose the final year mark sheet in case of not having the provisional/degree certificate. 
• Work experience certificate obtained from the employer.
