Operations jobs in India and abroad are critical in manufacturing, healthcare, retail, and tech sectors. The work in operations involves improving processes and resources through quality control measures and budget management.

As a career, there are good growth opportunities in operations, with an entry level role earning up to INR 5 LPA to C-Suite level crossing INR 100 LPA. (Data from AmbitionBox).

Hierarchy-wise, an entry-level operations job is to support daily activities, whether as an intern or coordinator. This moves up to managerial tasks handled by an Operations Manager - also the most common designation in the domain. The mid-tier operational role, further with experience (or training with operations courses), shapes up to be more strategic and leadership-oriented. There are various titles within all these operations jobs, which depend on the organisational requirements and industry. Some within the same hierarchy will have overlapping roles but never the same, as it could vary from handling one department to multiple. The pay will also differ accordingly.
