Review of Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Placements: I'm a Pharma.D student. As a Pharma.D student, I can say one thing for sure that none of the graduates are unemployed. They got placed either in research, clinics, dispensaries or even in IT companies with an average salary of Rs. 30,000 per month. Since this is a medical line up, as long as the drug industry keeps developing, there are chances of employment. Though the placement cell of our college is a bit downstream in bringing in companies, the academic faculty members have proven to be the best. As Pharma.D students, we have an internship programme in the 6th year. Being under the government sector, the average stipend we get is Rs. 7,000 per month. For B. Pharma students, they offered a one-month internship in any of the pharmacies nearby with no stipend. As a clinical pharmacist to be in the future, we have clear cut exposure to the patients only because of the fact that our hospital is of a government sector and around 10,000 patients come to the hospital daily.
Infrastructure: It is a government set up. In fact, the buildings are preliminary. Our labs are efficiently put up with the best safety facilities and clear stock of all the chemicals to be used. The B. Pharma and M. Pharma students are being taught in the college itself while the Pharma.D students are being taught in a separate block in the hospital so that they have a clear exposure to patients and wards. The library is sufficient enough to handle ample books for reference, but again, it is a government setup. There's no Wi-Fi facility for students, but the E-library is always accessible. Medical facilities are ample. When it comes to sports and games, there's a separate funding for it, and it has been done to its best. There's no separate canteen for the college, but a mess and the restaurants are nearby. We faced a problem with no classrooms in the beginning, but the management has done enough for the students' welfare, and we are happy about it. Facilities are preliminary but accessible and friendly. The college is placed in an eco-friendly vibe with the medical college, nursing college and many other colleges nearby.
Faculty: We have around 9 PhD staff in our college along with teachers with a basic qualification of M.Pharma and Pharma.D. We are extremely proud to have amazing faculty who are well efficient in their knowledge, attitude and as well as their teaching ability. The teaching quality is high enough to meet the students' standards for improving knowledge. Students are well exposed to presentations and seminars, making them quite efficient in it. Every year, the final year students of B. Pharma have an industrial visit to many industries in the north which is very useful. Being the toughest university in entire India, it's hard to cope up with the study curriculum, but it is manageable for any average student pursuing the course.
Other: The college celebrates the college day every year which is grand. Other programs like Onam, Christmas, Eid, Vishu, Easter, arts day and sports day are also conducted. The college also participates in the university arts fest. The crowd is super jovial. Extracurricular activities are commendable.
