Review of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi.
Placements: A bachelor's degree in optometry is a four-year program, i.e., three years of academic study plus one year of mandatory internship. In AIIMS Delhi, there is no placement cell or any placement facility after the completion of a course by the college. After completing the course, you will be able to choose from a variety of options, such as joining AIIMS itself on a contract basis by giving an interview. You can join the project. You can get a permanent job, but there aren't many openings. You can either start a start-up, join a private MNC, or work in private optical shops. All students in their fourth year of study must complete a one-year internship. Internships are available at the AIIMS-Delhi hospital eye center.
Infrastructure: AIIMS Delhi is India's top medical college, with a NIRF ranking of 1 and excellent infrastructure. There is a separate department for eyes at AIIMS Delhi, the Dr. Rajendra Prasad Center for Ophthalmic Sciences. All classes for our course happen in our department, DR RPC. The library is equipped with Wi-Fi. There are books and journals available with good seating facilities. The department has many labs available. We have a huge lecture theater. Both digital and PPT methods of study are available. Hostel facilities are also available, but not to all students until now. There is a mess, a canteen, a cafeteria, a juice shop, an Amul shop, etc., available for students. The medical facility is available. Sports and games are available.
Faculty: Our teachers are well-qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. They teach using PPTs, on a whiteboard, and digitally. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready with a practical than theoretical approach. Pre-finals and final exams are conducted.
Other: I chose this course because AIIMS Delhi has the best facilities and good clinical postings. Hostels are not given to all students and are not given on time. Our college events are excellent. Our college celebrates the PULSE festival. Many celebrities attend the seven-day festival. The campus crowd is very good. The connectivity is good. Scholarships are government-funded for reservation categories. There are so many extracurricular activities to perform.

After completing the course, there are no placements. After completing the course, you have to go to companies. After passing the examination, all students are given permanent positions at AIIMS Delhi, but there are very few vacancies. There are no recruiting companies. You have to reach companies on your own. All students who have completed their third year are required to complete a one-year internship. You get a stipend of Rs. 500 per month for the first three years. You get a stipend of Rs. 13,000 per month during your internship.
Infrastructure: Our college provides very good facilities. It has the best infrastructure. There is a separate department for eyes, which is RP Center for Ophthalmic Sciences. Free Wi-Fi is available in the library. The library has an air conditioner and a heater. There are many labs in RP Center, like the cornea lab, the retina lab, the retina research lab, the perimetry lab, the glaucoma lab, the pathology lab, the microbiology lab, and the biochemistry lab. There is a gym, a swimming pool, etc. Every hostel and department has many facilities, including a canteen, a coffee shop, a tea shop, a juice shop, laundry services, and so on. Hostel facilities are also available for students. There are huge lecture theaters.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified professors, assistant professors, senior residents, scientists, and CTOs. The teaching quality is good. Both manual and digital modes of teaching, like PPTs, are available. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready because they have clinical postings along with theory classes. There are pre-final and final exams every year. More than 50% in each subject is required to pass.
Other: I chose this course because AIIMS Delhi is a top institute in India with great medical standards. Many patients come here, and there is still much to learn. I also get clinical experience with good standards. Being a part of AIIMS Delhi is the best aspect of the course because you learn more. It should provide transport facilities to students living in Delhi who have not been allotted hostels. Events take place on every occasion, such as Deepawali, Holi, Janmashtami, August 15, January 26, and so on. The festival PULSE takes place every year. It is a great fest that lasts 7 days. Many celebrities are invited to this fest. Campus surroundings are good. Scholarships are also available from the government as well as private organisations. To get admission to this course, you have to appear for AIIMS paramedical entrance exam conducted by AIIMS Delhi for all AIIMS across India. Every year, a notification or notice appears on the official website of AIIMS for filling out the application form to appear in the entrance exam. After qualifying the entrance exam, you have to appear for counselling through AIIMS website. There are many extracurricular activities, like sports.
