Q:   What is the NEET score required for UCMS Delhi?

A:

UCMS Delhi accepts NEET score for admission to its flagship courses. NEET cutoff for 2024 hasn't been released yet. However, candidates can refer to NEET cutoff for the previous years.

NEET cutoff for 2023 was 600.  The minimum qualifying mark for General category students in the NEET 2022 exam was 500, and the last rank for getting into UCMS Delhi was 30,000. This suggests that you would need to score in the top 30,000 to get into UCMS Delhi with 655 marks.

However, it's important to remember that the NEET cut-offs vary every year depending on a number of factors, such as the difficulty level of the exam, the number of students who take the exam, and the number of seats available. This means that it's not possible to say for certain whether or not you will get into UCMS Delhi with 655 marks.

Q:   Can I join UCMS Delhi directly?

A:

No, you can't join University College of Medical Sciences without NEET. However, for BSc and MSc courses NEET is not the source of admission.

Admission to undergraduate programs at the University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) in Delhi is based on performance in the NEET, followed by counselling. Admission to postgraduate programs is based on the marks obtained in the NEET PG examination. Admission to the MBBS programme is based on NEET UG marks.

To apply for admission to the MBBS program, candidates must apply for NEET UG conducted by NTA. For admission to MD/MS programs, admission will be based on the qualifying marks obtained in NEET PG.

Q:   Is UCMS good for MBBS?

A:
{Source: MBBS students & alumni}

Here's a summary of what current and former students have to say:

Placement and Internships: 100% of passing students get a paid internship at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital with a stipend of INR26,000-INR30,000 per month. After completing MBBS, students can pursue a junior residency in government or private hospitals with a salary range of INR80,000-INR90,000 per month.

Faculty and Teaching Quality: Many students praise the faculty members' knowledge and willingness to help. While some find certain lecturers less engaging, overall, the teaching quality is considered good.

Infrastructure and Campus Life: The campus is well-maintained, with air-conditioned lecture theaters, modern laboratories, and a library. Hostel facilities are available, although some students mention issues with cleanliness and food quality.

Academic Rigor: Students agree that the academic pressure is moderate to high, with frequent exams and assessments. However, those who put in effort report success.

Curriculum Relevance: Many students appreciate the relevance of the course material, particularly the focus on practical learning.

Career Prospects: Graduates generally fare well in securing positions in government or private hospitals, and some even choose to pursue further education or specialize in their chosen fields.

While UCMS may not be perfect, students seem to appreciate the institution's strengths in providing opportunities for hands-on learning, exposing them to real-world scenarios, and preparing them for successful careers in the medical field.

Remember, this assessment is based on students' subjective experiences and opinions. If you're considering UCMS for your MBBS journey, weigh these factors carefully against your personal goals and priorities.

University College of Medical Sciences. UC! UC!
Placements: 30 students are pursuing B.Sc. Radiology per year. In this field, the highest package is 15-20 LPA. Actually, the radiology field is much respectful and offers a better future. Companies like Siemens, Philips, etc., offer good enough packages. Radiology technician is the major job opportunity.
Infrastructure: UCMS has a huge campus, which includes the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital (GTB). GTB hospital acts as a training hospital and has 1000 beds. It provides facilities like a central workshop, animal house, hospital laboratory services unit, hostel, medical illustration and photography, medical education unit, skill lab, and canteen. The college also has technological facilities which include audio-video, telemedicine, and electronics.
Faculty: Most teachers are very helpful; they will assist you in clearing your doubts and understanding the topics better, except for a few who just come to college to read the slides. This course is actually very good if you want to serve the community for their betterment. The college is very strict in terms of their exams; like every week, there is either a seminar or an exam.
Other: Medical science has made tremendous advances in the last two decades. Newer diagnostic and therapeutic modalities like ultrasound, CT scan, MRI, PET scan, etc., are developing at a rapid pace. It is possible to impart this knowledge to the medical students. However, there is an acute shortage of supportive technical staff familiar with the newer techniques. X-ray technologies play an important role in helping the radiologist to make a diagnosis by providing good quality films and helping in various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
