M.Sc. in Computer Science - Batch of 2023
3.8

Our college has no placement but good faculty and campus.
Placements: There are no placements and internships in our college since 2018. I have been studying since 2018 and I haven't heard about placement but students get a job off campus. The recruiting companies for our department are TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Mindtree, etc.
Infrastructure: College has three buildings. Computer science department classes are held in the ACTC and centenary building. We have good libraries where all books are available. Every floor has a good Wi-Fi connection and each classroom and lab are air-conditioned.
Faculty: Our teachers are so friendly, helpful, well educated, qualified and very knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is excellent. Students of our course will learn a lot. There is no difficulty in our exams. Our pass percentage is very high.

It is a good college for students. The infrastructure of our college is good.
Placements: Almost 20 to 30% of the students got placed. The salary package offered ranges between 1.3 LPA-3 LPA. Wipro, TCS, etc., are the top recruiting companies. Role of the back office clerk was offered to students. There are fewer opportunities for students to get a technical job as our course is non-technical. The salary offered ranges between Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 40,000 per month. Around 30 to 40% of the students got an internship.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are good but not that much. Labs are available, but it is not perfectly not developed for various type of research work. Wi-Fi is available, but many of days it doesn't work. Classrooms are well-lit and equipped with fans and air-conditioners. The library is very small if it will be developed then good. There is no canteen available in our building, and it is a big issue. The college provides some medical facility. Sports and games are not available here.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful, qualified, knowledgeable. They always try to give their best. This course is a curriculum partially relevant, and it doesn't help to make students industry-ready. Economically, it is good.
Other: I choose this subject because I like biology. I want to know about nature, animals, their lifestyle etc. I think if our course will go to attach with industry or many technical sights that will be better. There is various type of events organised in our college. Fest is very interesting, and we enjoy it. The campus crowd is huge. Scholarships are provided here. Extracurricular activity is also conducted here.

A review of Asutosh College.
Placements: The college doesn't offer any placement opportunities in the stream of geography as it is a degree course only. A degree would add more efficiency to your CV. Pursuing a masters course with B.Ed would make you liable for any job in the teaching stream.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is poor as there are few drawbacks. The location of the college is very good. The college authority and the teaching faculty members are quite up to the mark. The college needs improvement in the department of officials.
Faculty: Faculty members and their teaching methods are very viable. There are ample amount of lecturers in the college and professors give extra guidance as well. There has been a specific teacher for every specific stream. There are a lot of extracurricular activities organised in the college.
Other: There have been excursions organised in the college.

Faculty and course curriculum are good, but placements and infrastructure are bad.
Placements: Placements are not guaranteed. The college doesn't offer you any kind of placements. This is basically a degree course which would just provide you with more opportunities and broaden your field. If you apply for B.Ed after masters, you would be able to apply for any teaching job.
Infrastructure: Facilities in the college are poor, and infrastructure is also very bad. The location of the college is nice. But the facilities are not up to the mark, and the officials don't co-operate with the students. The teaching faculty members are quite good and helpful to students.
Faculty: Faculty members and course curriculum in the college are excellent. There have been ample amount of lectures conducted by lecturers and professors who have been assigned for certain courses. Even extracurricular activities are included in the syllabus for the social development of students.
Other: Students are taken to excursion once a year.

M.Sc. in Environmental Science - Batch of 2015

Masters in Enviornmental Science from Asutosh College.
Placements: Our college has a small placement cell but it is still in its nascent stage. Most of the students go for a Ph.D. or get into the industry by off-campus placement. More than 5 people in my class went for the job and got a job in coaching institutes as a lecturer. The normal salary offered must have been around somewhat 25-30k. None of the environmental pertaining company visited our campus. Almost everyone had a summer internship in my college and most of the time it was in some other institute and was unpaid.
Infrastructure: My college has an average infrastructure. During my time there was no Wi-Fi as such except the library. Today's scenario can be very different. There was a ground for cricket and football. A small medical room for emergencies. And a library having all the relevant books for our use. The classrooms are normal and labs are also simple. The canteen food is good and worth having. I was a day scholar so I might not be the correct person to comment on the college hostels.
Faculty: The teachers are good. They are very helpful and if you want to do Masters in environmental Science then the coursework is a lot helpful in that regard. The teaching methods are digital here and most of the time it occurs on slides only. The student to faculty ratio is low and is around 8:1. This gives the advantage to interact with the teachers on one on one basis. We did have an exposure outside the college and went on a couple of places in Kolkata to visit the sewage and waste analysis. It was mostly related to the project work that I had in my second year.
