Q:   How successful is the placement cell in securing jobs for B.A. students at Asutosh College?

A:
{Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Success Rate of Placement Cell in Securing Jobs for B.A. Philosophy Students at Asutosh College

Based on the statements provided by students and alumni, here's an analysis of the success rate of the placement cell:

* No Placement Cell: Unfortunately, Asutosh College does not have a dedicated placement cell for B.A. philosophy students.
* Job Fairs Organized: Although there is no dedicated placement cell, the college occasionally organizes job fairs, which result in some students receiving placement offers (average package: INR2 LPA, the highest package: INR3.5 LPA).
* Limited Job Opportunities: The college acknowledges that there is a limited scope of job opportunities for B.A. philosophy graduates, and the placement cell does not actively work towards securing jobs for these students.
* Skills Development Courses: Instead, the college offers skills development courses that can potentially aid students in cracking interviews, although there is no guarantee of job placement.

In conclusion, the placement cell at Asutosh College appears to be underdeveloped and ineffective in securing jobs for B.A. philosophy students. While occasional job fairs and skills development courses are offered, the college does not prioritize placing B.A. philosophy graduates in employment positions.

Really good and encouraging about the extracurricular activities.
Placements: So my course is Philosophy Honours. It's a four-year course. Since it is not a professional course, there is no such scope for placements and recruitments. There are good internship opportunities if you can and are up for it. But you will to maintain proper attendance and a proper interaction with your professors.
Infrastructure: Our college is famous for its sports department. The ex-captain of the Indian football team, Sunil Chetri, is our alumni, so it has a good football team and overall encourages sports very much. It has its own casual games room for students to chill and play games like table tennis, carrom, etc. And since it is air-conditioned, it is a popular spot for students to chill. The canteen food is also good. The main building has traditional old classrooms, but the Annex Building and the IT building have centrally air-conditioned rooms and modern-day equipment like projectors, smart boards, etc. The library smells like old books. Well, it is like a museum. An air-conditioned museum. Labs are okay, not bad, but not that great too.
Faculty: Teaching quality was above average, no complaints about the faculty. Respect your teacher no matter how little they teach. Well, as it is not a professional course, not much can be said about it in a professional sense. But the curriculum is as per Calcutta University, which is pretty good. Moderate to high-level difficult exams.
Other: I didn't choose this course; it chose me. The best thing about my course is that it is my course. More pretty girls in my course would be a great thing to wish for. Very good campus crowd. Right beside Jatin Das Park metro station, so top-level connectivity and surroundings. Scholarships are given out based on merit, rank, and reservations. As I said, particularly good in the extracurricular section, our college is.

Honest review of the Asutosh College for Psychology honors .
Placements: Students get a chance at a good institute for a Masters. No such placement occurs. Students here study for higher studies. An internship is mandatory in a 4-year course. Students have to do at least one internship according to NEP guidelines. After higher studies, students are placed as psychologists.
Infrastructure: There is a good laboratory, classrooms and library. Good canteen facilities and a common room are there. Many good students with good board marks get admitted to the college so competition is high but by studying well, anyone can score well.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is very relevant to the present day. Yes, semester exams are indeed very difficult. After NEP, the courses are more applied and relevant to the present-day industry. Studying at CU is hard because of its syllabus.
Other: Fest occurs here.

This college needs a lot of improvement in its infrastructure and placement process.
Placements: Asutosh college does not have a proper placement cell. There is a placement team who sometimes organizes a few job fair, and a handful of students manage to get placement offers. But, the packages are not that great. The average package was 2 LPA while the highest package was 3.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the campus of Asutosh College is very old and dusty. The classrooms are very small as compared to the number of students in our batch. We have a few labs but most of the equipments are old. We do have a few sporting facilities in our college campus like cricket, football and volleyball.
Faculty: The teachers and other faculty members of Asutosh College are to some extent good. They have good knowledge about their subjects and also cover the syllabus on time. The course curriculum is also good and covers all the latest trends. The semester exams are a bit difficult, and you need to follow the classes properly to score good marks.

Review of Asutosh College.
Placements: The percent of students placed in our course was nearly 6270; the highest and lowest average package offered was about 30000 to 40000; there is no company recruiting us; there is not such an internship for our course or some other companies; we don't get any roles offered after this course; we need to go to NGOs; we just need to talk to them and if they like our TV or resume, they can use us.
Infrastructure: In our college, according to students, we have huge classrooms, but the IT sector of our college is basically the humanities block; they don't have big rooms but they have AC, and other AV products are required for students to understand better. Our college is always under construction .
Faculty: In our college professors and staff members, the union members are seniors; they are very helpful and they help us in all the possible ways. The office has all the facilities to clear all your problems within an hour on a particular working day and we get all the equipment that is necessary from them. They are very helpful and they care for us.

Asutosh college, the dream .
Placements: Companies like TCS, Recognition, and many private banks come to the college to offer jobs in various sectors such as creative writing, loan departments, insurance departments, and many more. The highest salary goes up to 5.5 LPA. On average, most students get a salary of 3 LPA. There is a placement drive conducted every year in the first week of January. All third-year students can participate in those interviews.
Infrastructure: The college has Wi-Fi facilities throughout. The libraries have a huge collection of books, articles, and journals; the college also has an e-library. Not all the classrooms have AC, but the labs are well-facilitated with all the required instruments for the subjects.
Faculty: The professors here are really helpful and always mentor the students, helping them build a keen interest in the subject and understand each topic very well. The semester exams are conducted on time, and there are also some extra exams to keep the topics fresh.

Dissatisfied with the college.
Placements: They have students in numbers that they struggle to manage most of the time. The teachers are also frequently absent. The placements are very poor and not helpful at all in the course. There are no companies collaborating with the college for placements.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are well maintained, the quality of food is good, and sports and games are also a part of the college. However, the hostels are more or less good. There are no extra facilities, but they are good enough to survive the college years. Wi-Fi is available, and the library is a good place to hang out.
Faculty: The teaching quality is not bad, and yes, the teachers are qualified. However, the students are not at all industry-ready; they are just used to memorizing things. The semester exams are not difficult, but the grading is very arbitrary, as they just give marks according to their mood, and nothing really matters.
