Good at reputation, but doesn’t deserve it.

Placements: A good number of students were placed with a handsome salary, but when compared to other colleges, our college campus is poor. We hardly get finger count companies for placements and that too IT based companies and the branches like mechanical, automobile, industrial production hardly get to appear for core company placements. So, the students from these branches also prefer to go for IT companies without having an option.

The college is average but needs to improve a lot.

Placements: The placement isn't that great. In fact it is poor compared to many other colleges. The highest salary offered was around 3.5 lakhs per annum. The companies that visited are TCS, GlobalEdge, Tech Mahindra. The roles offered varied based on individuals performance in training. The number of students getting internship is way too less. The exposure that students get at BEC is way less compared to other students we compete with. Even if anyone gets internship, most of the times it is unpaid. ...

Good college providing a good quality of education.

Placements: I was placed with TCS. Many more companies visit the college to recruit the students. Need to improve the placement department. No core companies for the particular department visit the campus for placements. Only the mass recruiting companies visit the campus for recruitment. Nowadays only TCS is the main recruiter. Placement training is not much good. Students have to prepare themselves, and the placement fee is also very high.

Good college with great campus but no placements.

Placements: We have got good training and placements in our college. They invite people from corporate setup and arrange classes on aptitude, communication skills etc. to the students. The two reputed companies which recruit the students in large number are TCS and Mindtree. Other companies recruit very few students. So if the grades of the students are good, they can surely get into the above companies.

Great faculty in college but no exposure and dissatisfied with the placements.

Placements: Only 3 to 4 companies visited our campus at our time. According to my knowledge, TCS recruited 80 students, IBM 5 and global edge 3 visited the college for placements. The highest package offered to the students was 3.2 LPA, and the lowest was 2.2 LPA. No internships were offered. We faced a lot of issues in getting recruited to the companies.

Dissatisfied with placements, but knowledge is wealth and pretty good infrastructure.

Placements: Placements play a good role in identifying the college, but the placement cell and the placement officer here has no value. Only two or three companies offer the placement in this college like TCS and Mindtree. The placement cell has to develop a lot. Brilliant students do face problems like they are being pushed into a herd of sheep.

An average college as many colleges in India

Placements: The placements are okay but we don't get placements for core branches like for civil, mechanical, and E&TC. We all get placed for a common company like TCS or Tech Mahindra irrespective of our branches. The teaching is good but the equipment provided is not up to the mark with respect to the present technology.

An overview of BEC campus.

Placements: Every year, over 230 students from various branches get placed in TCS, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, HCl, Robosoft, and Jindal companies from the campus interviews. A few students entered the Indian Merchant Navy, this year. Over the past three years, the placement rate has gone up by 33% for the computer science and information science engineering students, and approximately 10 to 11 % for the hardware branches like civil, mechanical and automobile branches which is pride to our institute. Good teachers with good teaching experience, good infrastructure but average placement package.

Placements: Every year, various companies visit our campus. This year our college was the first in placement in North Karnataka. This year, about 45-60% were recruited for TCS, Global Age, Infosys, etc. The highest package offered was about 10 lac and average package is 5-6 lacs. The stipend is given only to the students belonging to Karnataka. Around 18000 was given for one year. The placement cell of our college organizes HRD programmes for the freshers to know about the engineering field and develop thei...

Good infrastructure but bad management.

Placements: I got selected in BEL for a package of approximately 9 lacs CTC. A total of 3 students of our college got selected in BEL including myself, 2 of them from mechanical and 1 from E&C branch. In the mechanical department, about 70 students got placed out of 153. 55 of them in TCS, 10 students in Merchant Navy, 3 in BEL and 2 in other companies. Every year, the most trusted company that visits our college is TCS. They take most of the students from all branches. This time they took 193 students fro...

Absolutely dissatisfied because of faculty, poor management and teaching methods.

Placements: It was average. The minimum salary was nearly 3.2 lakhs per annum and the maximum was nearly 5 lakhs per annum. Companies like TCS, Global Edge, Tata Materials and BEL visited. I think no student went into the internship. The biggest company that came was BEL. It offered nearly 8 lakhs per annum and selected 5 students, This was the first time BEL came into our college. Roles like software engineering and production engineering were offered.

You can join this college if you are a hard worker.

Placements: The placements are not very good. Very few companies visit our campus. Most of the students are recruited by TCS. Other companies like BHEL, Tech Mahindra, etc. also visit. 50% of the students are recruited by TCS. There are many placement programs conducted for the students starting from the first year itself.

Satisfied. Good placements, good infrastructure, but no cultural fests and technical fests.

Placements: The HODs and the principal work hard to bring different companies to the college so that most of the students get selected. The placement opportunities are good. TCS, BEL and other various companies come to BEC to recruit students from various branches.

Placements: Placement cell works well for students. It approached top MNC companies. This year, more than 30 students out of 70 got placed in TCS, BEL, L&T, Cognizant, Mind Tree, Simanes and Global Edge etc. One of my friends got placed in BEL with a package of 6 LPA.

To be recognised as a premier technical institute committed to developing exemplary professionals.

Placements: In our batch, a total of 213 students got selected for TCS. In that, 51 from our branch. Two got placed in TAML, three got placed BFL and 9 students placed in Global Edge. The college has been one of the nodal centres in northern Karnataka for campus interviews of Wipro, Tech Mahindra, HCL, Robosoft, SLK-Soft, Caritor, Integra Micro, Apollo Tyres, Hewlett Packard etc. The performance of our students in campus interviews has been excellent all along.

This is one of the finest colleges with the best staff, environment and technology. As a coin has two faces so this college is a bit out of reach of companies to conduct recruitment. Overall, one can though survive with knowledge and skills gained from off campus interviews.

Basaveshwar engineering college is one of the finest college in North Karnataka. The faculty in mechanical engineering is good as it has around 18 Ph.D teachers. Placement is up to the mark. The college is really good in terms of imparting education. It also provides good hostel facilities as compared to all other colleges in Karnataka.

College has a good and qualified lecturers but it lacks with management which rarely concentrates in development and placement of college. College lies in the city of Bagalkot which gives very less exposure to students of college in all views. The college isn’t student friendly. National level technical fests are not conducted. If you are just looking for a college degree with no entertainment and no technical events then you can join the college.
