I am absolutely dissatisfied with administration, average placements, infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: For botany, the number of students who get admission here is very low. However, the number of applicants is quite high. Alumni is quite good, and yet it depends a lot on students to which position they reach and how. In botany, joining schools and colleges is a common job role, and yet few students applied for MBA.
Infrastructure: As for botany, there are no very elaborated labs, but it's good. There should be few more home specimens. Wi-Fi is not very good. The library is usually for students who are well versed in the Bengali language. For Hindi or English medium students, it is a bit difficult. There is also no huge collection of books, but students can get the work done. The canteen is good, although the dishes we want are not always available. So, our college needs to work on it. Medical facilities are average, and our college is not much involved in sports and games.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful here but less helpful in certain areas like the botany department, etc. Teachers are kind of weak. Exams are convenient. The curriculum is relevant but does not make students industry-ready. You need to improve yourself on your own. The difficulty level of semester exams depend on how question papers are set from semester to semester, but they are usually moderately hard. But evaluation is non-lenient. So, the pass percentage is a bit above average to average.
Other: Botany isn't actually a very likeable subject, yet it offers you some diverse tours to the best gardens and parks (botanical). There should be better teachers with thorough knowledge, and they should know how to teach, help and especially should not be biased. They should add more visual effects of topics, so students get more interest. Our college should add more books and more tours, so we see actual plants. Events and fests are organised quite grandly. The campus crowd is low because it's only a girls college. Campus surroundings are green and offer quiet space. It is not a very good place for extra-curricular activities due to a lack of interest among students and teachers equally. They should work on it.
