Review for Carmel College, Mala.
Placements: I have graduated in B.A. functional English and most of the students has opted for higher studies. The placement is less for this subject in the college. Companies came mainly for B.Com graduate and graduate from any field can also sometimes able to join the interviews. Teachers will update us with internship opportunities and events which we can join.
Infrastructure: There are many departments in the college I. e UG and PG many are self financing a new integrated programme for sociology has started last year. A big library is there. Free Wi-Fi. Don't know much about hostel, but situated near to college. There is a language lab but less usage.
Faculty: Teachers are good. Help and guide us well. When I was studying it was not an autonomous college so the exams were not regular. The curriculum I learnt was relevant and make students interested on the subject. There were no textbooks so one should search it in Libraries or net. Many activities will be there which will definitely help students in future.
Other: I have chosen the course because I have find interest in English . Unlike literature, its quite interesting since it goes through many other fields under the English language. The one thing I find difficult initially was searching for the notes. But slowly I found it was helpful in higher studies. There are many events, programs conducted both by department and college.
