M.E. in Tool Design - Batch of 2021

I am lucky to have been exposed to such a vibrant institute which runs in parallel with industries.
Placements: I am pursuing a master of engineering in tool design at Central Institute of Tool Design, Balanagar crossroads, Hyderabad. I'll be passed out in May 2021. There have been consistently 80% placements in tool design branch, and the average salary package offered will varies between 3.5 LPA to 5 LPA. Top recruiting firms for our college are Suzuki, Hyundai, John Deere, Thermax etc. Since the course is mainly about tool design and manufacturing, roles offered to our batch lie in design, research and development and manufacturing domains. Every student got internships from our batch. Every student gets internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: Central Institute of Tool Design has the latest labs and workshops with the latest tools and machinery. Moreover, our college has best-in-class facilities as commercial industries regularly do their work here. So, industry standards are being followed with utmost care. The latest machinery, including CNC machines, are available for students usage from 7 am to 11 pm. In addition to this, students are effectively trained in various industry specified software's, which are necessary for acquiring great employment opportunities. It is a government institution, and mess and canteen facilities are managed accordingly. The food served is great and is subsidised for all the students and faculty members. On-campus medical facilities are available round the clock.
Faculty: Faculty members here are greatly experienced. Many of them have worked in reputed industries and are working here as professor emeritus and guiding faculty members. Faculty members are the core of the course. As tool design is an industry-specific course, faculty members have a vast experience in real-time industries for decades. The tool design course curriculum instils the basic and advanced knowledge about all the current industry requirements and also impart the knowledge of traditions processes and procedures.
Other: I have chosen this course as I have a great passion for machines and manufacturing. This course allows students to learn things in real-time with hands-on experience and training. This course is very dynamic as it has to be updated with all the regular advancements in the manufacturing industries, which is practically never-ending. Our college has a tie-up with Osmania University, so we are basically a part of it. Students have an active involvement in all curricular activities at Osmania. Since the course is offered by the government institute, scholarships and stipend are available under various schemes.

CITD-To Explore your Practical Knowledge.
Placements: In my batch 15 of 30 got placed and in my seniors batch 24 of 30 students got placed. 60-70% students got placed from every batch. The highest paid salary is 7.2L/a and average is 3L/a. Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Hero etc. Design engineers, assistant manager and various other roles are offered to students. 50-60% of students got internship facility. The highest paid was 15k and the lowest paid was 5k for internships. Average is 8k for internships. Yes, placement cell is available in the college.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is quite good, good facility of library. Canteen maintenance is average. Good facilities for design practices. Projector classrooms. And good knowledge of tool room and experience. Students need to just gain experience in their revelavent field using these infrastructure Quality of the food le less, when compared to others. No sports and curricular activities provided. Hostel rooms are good with regular maintenance. Till now no infrastructure issues faced.
Faculty: Facility with both theoretical and practical knowledge are available for various courses. The quality of teaching is very good and easily understood by any level of student. Student to facility ratio is 1:40. Which is not acceptable. But the quality of that one teacher is very high. ME tool design, ME cad cam, PGTD are most rated courses.
Other: There are no fests conducted in the college. Seminars from various guests lectures are conducted.

Good faculty, good placements.
Placements: The placements for our batch and for our seniors batch are good. The eligibility percentage is based on the companies, it's better to get 75%. The salary may vary from company to company, could range from 3 LPA to 7.5 lakhs per annum. More than 50% of the students got the internship and the remaining are doing their own project.
Infrastructure: Coming to facilities, there is no Wi-Fi. Labs will be there with full-fledged software. Classrooms are there for teaching. Good library and medical facilities are available. The quality of food is good, and the cost is reasonable in the canteen. Hostel rooms are okay, not upto the mark.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, well-qualified and knowledge. There will be an entrance exam and if we qualify that, we can get a seat in this institute. We can see the industry process in our workshops. Teaching is good and in step by step process. If we have any doubt at any time, we can text or we can ask in class or we can ask in the lab. The faculty will help us.

For diploma, it is a good college. It's a waste of time, so I suggest you not to join here.
Placements: Our college has placements, but small companies visit here. Our seniors did not place until now. CITD did not invite companies, and students did not attend the interviews. I asked the placement officer regarding placements, and then he said to wait as placements will be conducted.
Infrastructure: Our college has a good infrastructure, and there are 5 labs. In every lab, there are almost 50-60 systems. So, there is a total of 250 systems to practice, and in every lab, 4 air-conditioners are in power-on condition. The canteen is the worst, and the hostel is also the worst. Air-conditioned hostels are somewhat better compared to the normal hostel.
Faculty: Faculty members here are fine in masters of engineering students. For diploma students, faculty members were nice and good at teaching. Every point is explained, but for masters of engineering students, they just explain for namesake. Faculty members are strict, and exams will be conducted between the course and completion of the course.
Other: Our college doesn't organise events and fests, and scholarships are offered on time. Events conducted are related to technical, but not cultural things.
